It's meant to be I assume a harmless article, but it never turns out that way when you talk about subjective matters like this. The OP even says this in a tongue and cheek way.

The truth is both teams have been poor in the league, so I would say that Bruno would be a cert, and then you could make an argument for most players (who have been poor this season) making the other 10 spots.

Seems to be a lot of choices top heavy on Spurs players, but the league table doesn't reflect this and I would say Utd have looked better in Europe if anything.

Ultimately the final is pretty much a 50-50 call - it will be down to luck in terms of who turns up on the night and plays better, because consistency ain't a strength of either team.

I remember years ago reading in an old fun football facts book while taking a dump that United and Spurs combined into a team called Manchester Hotspurs and played a purple friendlies in South Africa in the 80s. Never found any info on it since though?

were you having a joint during that dump and imagined it all......

Only Bruno comes to mind but I don't really watch united at all so they could possibly have more players that would get in especially since we are as bad as each other in the league.

Based off our current system and on the players reputations and current form I’d go.

Vicario
Romero de Ligt VDV
Porro Casemiro Ugarte Udogie
Bruno Son
Solanke

I know it sounds mental but I 100% read it! Who smokes a joint while taking a dump anyway?!

I'm quite enjoying this Spurs over confidence creeping up as we get ever closer. Keep it going lads.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Was just about to say that it looks like it'll be a very comfortable victory for Spurs, based on their overwhelming personnel superiority.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Go on then. Lets see your XI.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't watch Spurs enough to be able to judge your players in terms of ability, floor, ceiling, consistency, etc. So I don't think I can make any kind of objective comparison. Evidently, you lot, on the other hand, are avid watchers of both teams.

No Spurs player has scored more than Bruno (7) or Hojlund (6) in this season's Europa League.

Interesting stat given how many more goals they have scored in the league and also we have had a harder route to the final on paper with Lyon and Bilbao.

The only spurs players I know are son and maddison, who the fk are the rest of them?
That's how much I care about sp uds yet every spu ds fan seems to have detailed knowledge of all United players. Interesting that, isn't it?

The difference is Spurs has Ange who I call the Australian Brendan Rodgers.
Utd just have a whole host of shiiitty players AND a manager that's looking very dodgy

Wasn't there sanctions against SA in the 70s and 80s over Apartheid, seems unlikely any pro footballers would've risked their careers for a combined team?

Didn't you lot get knocked out this competition last at the quarter final stage?

I think a lot of the Europa specific stats go out of the window in this PL clash. These teams are well known to each other and the fact that United have scored plenty more than Spurs, while Spurs comfortably have the better defensive record will mean little in the final.

I'm not having Lyon being a tougher draw than Frankfurt BTW. The latter will qualify for the UCL by virtue of their league position, in a tougher league than Lyon (7th).

Think our routes to the final have been pretty even overall.

And Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao are much better than AZ Alkmaar and Frodo/Gimli.

We’ve obviously had the tougher route to the final.

I don't think our routes have been even at all. You lot were delighted to be on the opposite of the draw after the last 16. I would have been too had it fallen our way.

Agree about Frankfurt vs Lyon. Incidentally, Eintracht could still miss out on CL qualification. They sit three points ahead of Dortmund with +3 goal difference, which on paper looks like a strong position to be in. However, in the final match Dortmund are in good form and play at home to already relegated Holstein Kiel, while Frankfurt (who dropped points at the weekend against St Pauli, who - hurray - more or less secured their stay in the Bundesliga) are playing against Freiburg, who sit in fourth and can only guarantee CL qualification with a win.

Indeed. Exciting end to their season re: Top 4. Frankfurt in the box seat. 1 point does it for them but great to have the 3rd and 4th head to head on the final day decider.

Again, you look at the side a combined Spurs and United could muster and no one is salivating - and yet those sides have been relatively comfortable in Europe - United unbeaten.

Shows how schitt that second tier in Euro football actually is
