Because a combination of injuries and poor game management has left us languishing near the bottom of the table and contributed to our worst league performance in our history.

No Deki

Where’s the creativity coming from? I mean I know we’ve been pragmatic in this competition but f*ck me, we need a bit of spark from somewhere for the final.

The players I think who are really have to stand up and be counted are;

Vic, Romero, VDV, Bentancur & Solanke.

Our top 5 assisters for this season are (in order)

Son
Maddison
Porro
Kulu
BJ

People are talking about Kulu like we can’t create without him - Timo Werner has 1 less assist than Kulu in nearly half the game time.

They all need to stand up and deliver - BJ is our top scorer, we need him on it, Sons our captain, Porro is our 3rd most creative player. It’s a team game, they all need to turn up and work their bollox off.

posted on 15/5/25

I’m thinking Bentancur because of how he used to be before his long injury.

We need him at that kind of level.

United are as schitt as we are, they have conceded 53 goals to our 59, they have scored 42 compared to our 63.
------------------------------------------------

That's in the Prem, where United are a point and a place above Hotspur.

In Europe, all 3 competitions, United are the only unbeaten team, Hotspur have lost 2 games. United scored 19 goals in the KO stages, to Hotspurs paltry 10.

Sure, but you also conceded a whopping 9 goals in the KO’s compared to the 4 we conceded and all of your opponents were reduced to 10 men at some point in the tie, none of ours were.

I’m not even trying to point score on United, I’m just pointing out that it’s 2009 again where we were up against an SAF United with Ronaldo and Rooney. We’re up against a United side we’ve beaten 3 times already this season and haven’t lost to since 2022 yet some of our fans are worried about us not having a fit 10 - given how both teams defend, I don’t think it will be a factor, there will be mistakes galore

Coach drive is in goal obviously, we have to park the coach. Stewards will be marshalling things at the back - both CB’s. Reggie at Left back. Werner left forward. Chirpy is bound to be good on the wing so he is right forward. It gets trickier from there.

Doris, she is good at serving up so she will be the most advanced of the midfielders. Kit mans good at covering players so he is centre mid. Ticket office are good on the line, so that’s right back sorted. Groundsman is good all over the pitch - CM. That leaves the random fan to play up front

It’s a cup final, they should all be fighting - the beauty of this Spurs side is that we aren’t really beholden to one player, they are all varying shades of shiete this season. We need the first choice defence and we need our goal scorers. We remain very likely to have both.

Beyond that we need the team to turn up and a bit of good luck.

Deki's form since injury has not picked up but before that he was a great ball carrier for us. He's often not the killer pass player, but more often the one breaking lines, pulling the opposition out of shape, making space for others, often from deeper positions, carrying and holding the ball.

I feel like he's been trying that but failed a lot more since his return, so has been far less effective, but its in his locker and could have produced it on the day.

I am wondering whether Gray or Tel could slot in ahead of Bents & Biss, their brief being to be energetic and try and link pay to the forwards. Feel like we'll need Sarr's legs later in the game.

Concede 4, score 5, it's called winning

It's ALWAYS a decent game between the two, both traditionally playing proper football. One of the fixtures I always look forward to for that reason. I hope both sides do England proud and produce a final for the ages.

May the least worse team on the night, win!

Others have that in their locker - VDV and Bissouma. Kulu has given the ball away more than any other player at Spurs this season - he is often incredibly unsuccessful at carrying the ball - it’s also a high pressure game to do it in.

I don’t get the wailing over Kulu, I don’t think he is anywhere the sort of miss people are making him out to be

In isolation i would agree. If Madders were fit he'd be in, if Bergvall were fit he'd be an option. I think the worry is that having none of them sees us playing an unfamiliar midfield which lacks a true baller to make things tick a bit. Sure, Deki isn't quite that type but he can do it and i dont think United's midfield is that strong, physically or qualitatively. He'd be far more of a worry for them then whoever is going to fill that position.

I think its worth a try. He's quite a tricky player, mobile, agile. His movement could cause Utd some problems. Its just whether he is able to retain possession well and use it well. Untested, so worth looking at IMO vs a much stronger Villa midfield.
