Hengy. It was more than good. None of the supporters were interested in the result. But they were all buzzing over the achievement of landing the Europa.

I think many fans have been pretty apathetic about the last 10-15 league results. Which isn’t a good a reflection on our manager.

I’m glad he won us a trophy and will go down in history for it. But if we keep him, we’ll need to write off next season.

Come on! There’s no way Europa is more important than a league title. We’re below Liverpool on that one but above the rest.

Everyone is happy we won but “outstanding” as Ange put it? Not a feckin chance. I can’t quite believe that he can’t quite believe why we’re all talking about his position? I mean, has he no self-awareness? The league has been a catastrophic failure and Levy has every reason to sack him for that alone, regardless of the EL trophy in the bag. “Outstanding” feels like such a slap in the face for all those that paid and turned up to home league fixtures to watch us get battered week after week.

I think he’s a really horrible bloke, all things considered. His treatment of reporters is just gross. I won’t shed a tear should he go. Thanks for the cup Ange but we’re a big enough side not to have to prioritise one competition. Newcastle won a cup and finished top four. They never lost sight of the league and I’d say our squad is at least on par with theirs. Sorry, he has no excuse. 17th and “outstanding”? Stop taking the pisssss, mate!!!!!

Why is Europa not as important as the Prem? It's a hard tournament to win. Spurs had to negotiate 15 tough matches and were never certain of winning the Europa until the final whistle last Wednesday. Liverpool had the Prem pretty well wrapped up at the turn of the year, and have been coasting the last two or three months.

Oh and nobody at WHL was talking about his position yesterday. The whole crowd were fully behind him. The only ones who go on 24/7 about Ange are the keyboard warriors on the Internet. Mostly those that don't even go to matches.

Ange completed his brief.

1st season European football
2nd season Trophy and CL qualification

He did what he said he would do.

Fridge, you sound bitter that Ange won Spurs a trophy. You are kind of demeaning what a great achievement it was with his injury hit squad.

The fact 150,000 turned out to celebrate it, shows that
you, and a few other, are on the wrong side of history.

So just for once it would be nice if you would just shut the feck up, enjoy the Summer, and come back next season, not quite so bitter.

The fact that you are also throwing personal insults at a guy you have never met, tells us all more about what a piece of work you are, then anything Ange has done to deserve the abuse.

Fridgeboy, if Ange is in your words a horrible bloke, then I think you need to take a look in the mirror because your comments are not pleasant and you don’t know him at all
As for his treatment of reporters, they have been baiting him for months in the hope he loses his tag and blows up.
They are only interested in the story and in all honesty they deserve everything they get. They would sell their grandmothers for a good story😵‍💫🤬

I only know Ange like most on here, from his interviews and therefore cannot claim to know him. One thing I do believe is that he is a typical Aussie, upfront and blunt.
You I don’t know at all and from your comments I am not sure we would get on that well, because I am much more pragmatic and forgiving. If Daniel decides to stick with Ange, then I will support that decision, if he doesn’t then I will also support that decision.
Ange, whatever happens is now legendary is Spurs history. In a few years time nobody will remember whee we finished in the PL, all that will matter is that under his stewardship Ange brought home the Europa League trophy and even told us all last September that he always wins a trophy in his second season.

Winners are remembered whilst losers are quickly forgotten over time.

Here I am again, having to explain that it’s possible to be happy that we won a cup, but ultimately concerned at our league form. Everyone on here is so black and white. As if winning a cup wipes away all negativity. It doesn’t. Those making the decision have to take into account every aspect of Ange’s tenure and that’s not summed up by beating Alkmaar, Frankfurt, Bodo and United. It’s also losing 22 games out of 38, finishing on 38 points and getting routinely battered by relegation fodder. The point is that you can’t ignore league form. It has been utterly catastrophic so when he throws out bullish claims of an “outstanding” season, it naturally feels like a slap in the face. We’ve sacked so many managers for far less and I certainly wouldn’t blame Levy for pulling the trigger. Is Ange not aware that our average league finish in the PL, certainly for the last 20 years is 5th place? How on earth can 17th be something to ignore?

And on the other point, I don’t think he’s a nice guy because he’s arrogant, disrespectful, dismissive and sneery with very little reason to be. Each to their own though. Personally I just don’t like characters like that. Give me the humility of Poch every day of the week.

Afternoon Genius. I just don't get why anyone would be that bitter over Spurs finally getting over the line and winning a trophy. You won't find any of this in Bilbao, at the parade or at WHL yesterday swap the experience of the past few days. Fridge thinks he talks for us all, and in fact he only talks for a few bitter Ange haters. Every supporter who has paid for a season ticket would think it was money well spent finally seeing a trophy delivered.

To see my son crying his eyes out when the final whistle went again Manu after I apologised to him a few weeks earlier for a lifetime of misery after getting him his first top at 3 years old. Now 18 and even attending more games than I do now his answer still resonates ..it doesn’t matter Dad am glad you choose them. Wont have it any other way
Off course the league matters but winning a cup even more. I would hands down take finishing in the same position next season and winning the CL!!!

And btw teams don’t play the elite in all rounds to win an FA Cup or Carling cup. Do Palace demean the FA cup cause they had to play Doncaster and Stockport county in the earlier rounds. We all pray for a good draw…Seriously apart from the Ange haters who cares!!!

I've read reports that reckon it was approx 225k at the trophy parade, if that's anywhere near true it's off the scale.

Anyway however many it was it certainly showed that Ange was right to prioritise the Europa over the Prem.

Hopefully we'll use our CL dosh and new trophy winners status to bring in some class players and get alot luckier with injuries.

That way we can have a proper go at all four.

Personally, and I know it’s just my opinion, I don’t think the issue lies in personnel. We could sign some absolute bangers and I still think opposition teams will cut through us like a knife through butter. It’s a tactical issue. Our only meaningful success this season was as a consequence of abandoning Angeball.

If Ange can’t even take questioning as to why we’ve finished 17th then he’s clearly blind to his own failings. His response sounds more like a fan - a kind of “feck it, who cares” approach when in reality a manager should be focusing more on failure than success in order to improve. He’s an odd bloke. I don’t know whether he’s faced difficulties in previous roles but he’s the most sensitive manager I’ve ever seen. He can’t take criticism of any kind and he therefore never truly learns lessons.

The rumour is that he’s got a stay of execution, according to those in the know, which allows him the start of next year which I think is fair. If the first 10 games go south, he’s got to go. Simple as that. We can’t afford relegation form again.

Why does it matter? Top wins the league. 18th, 19th, 20th get relegated. Any other position means SFA other than for European qualification. Which Spurs have got bt winning the Europa. Prem is done now, Every team is now on zero points for next season, but Spurs have a big shiny trophy to see them through the Summer.

I really don't get why you are still banging on about the Prem Fridge. It's like you would have been happy with mid table and no trophy, so you could carry on with your ante Ange agenda.

I really don't

He won't ignore any cat the start of the season. Why would he? Circumstances absolutely dictated he targeted the Europa in the New Year, being the only serious route back to European football with the horrendous injury list he suffered from November onwards. That he achieved his target was an absolute miracle, given the injuries were starting to mount again, with the absence of Maddison, Bergvall and Kulusevski for the final.
