It's a cup competition, so it's somewhat dependent on the draw. But when it takes 70 minutes to register your first shot on target against inferior opposition, this isn't good.

And Southgate has proven himself time and again to be very good in international cup competitions.

It was the right time for Southgate to go. He had enough chances to win something and he didn't and the football wasn't particularly great.

I'd have been fine with Potter taking over.

Backwards slower than under Tuchel at least.

No way. Bad enough we have 1 German manager.

Because I think the players do respond better to an English manager than a foreign one. But also I think as it’s international football then that should include the coaches. We have club football for mixed nationalities.

Eh records wise yes, was it good football? I remember Greece winning the Euro's playing some putrid football. But they were home and winning. I believe if Gareth actually won something, he may have stayed on.
