With Gassama it's not about what he's done, it's what he's capable of doing. Lets see what those numbers look like at the end of the season.
Sheff Wed fans fuming that they're not getting close to 10m for him. Lots of comments that he's on the verge of going to the next level.
Of course he may be schit but it looks like we've got a big talent, a player that will excite the fans and he's ready to come in and start and its for a couple of million.
Will play on the left I think so still 2 RWs required.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the team will change up a fair bit depending on oppostion. Aasgard played wide left yesterday in what looked to be a much closer to team to what I expect against Panathanikos. good chance he might play gassama wide right.
Against the better or tougher games I think we might see Aasgard wide but moved inside against teams more defrensive against us.
Also looks like Tav will be our usual RB with Aarons at LB based on yesterday.

Think I heard it mentioned he also said the dressing room is quiet, bit worrying so can understand wanting Coady and to keep Dowell for now.
Dowell played on the wing yesterday but can’t see that happening regularly if he gets the wingers he wants, he usually wants a lot of pace there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Martin said its been a bit quiet with all the new faces... but you can see them starting to have a bit more between them the more time they spend together. he wasnt so much highlighting thats it quiet more that its getting louder as they spend more time with each other.

I’d be happy to see Souttar go if he’s not signing a deal and is replaced. Butland the same. Dowell can just go, but if Martin thinks he helps the dressing room and wants to keep him around as a squad player then fine with that. He’s on good money but not on the highest wage like Davies, Matondo and been injured most of his time for us rather than consistently being poor.

Retired former Celtic star Beram Kayal has revealed how a bollocking from Neil Lennon led to him naming his child Pirlo.
The Israeli star announced his decision to quit the game last week after a stint at homeland club Bnei Sakhnin at the age of 37.
He won six major trophies with the Hoops during his five-year spell at the club before moving to Brighton ten years ago.
He played for Celtic in the Champions League and in one of those matches against Juventus in 2013 in Turin, he was assigned a special task to man-mark Andrea Pirlo.
And Kayal, in an interview in his homeland, revealed the unlikely story about why this was the reason he named his first born child Pirlo.
He said: "All week Neil Lennon, our manager, told me that Pirlo was a legend, but his legs had gone.
"My instructions were to stick with him at all time and to tackle him hard every time he touched the ball.
"But I couldn't get near him. I came in from the left to tackle him, he turned to the right. The same when I went in at the other side.
"At half time, I got yelled at by Neil Lennon.
"I ended up approaching Pirlo after about an hour and told him that my wife was pregnant and if it was a boy, I would name the baby after him.
"Thankfully, he was substituted soon afterwards, but he waited for me afterwards to swap shirts.
"The boy was born and we called him Pirlo as promised.
"A few years later, he sent me one of his shirts and signed it, 'Best wishes from Pirlo to Pirlo.'
Aarons at LB might be a short term solution to not having to play Jefte against teams that are of a higher level than most of the Scottish teams.
He's not better than Tav at RB imo.
When Yilmaz goes we will surely look to bring in another LB.

I'd disagree! His undoubted skill is in good ball striking delivery, particularly at pace. If he cuts inside at RB he's onto his lesser foot if it is a shot and reducing the distance if it is a cross means he can't so easily whip it in with pace without also reducing attackers reaction time. His corners are good for that very reason - I'd be having him whip crosses from wide all day long. I get that Martin might be changing the shape but neutering Tav somewhat imho. Add in that every low block team will be overjoyed at not being stretched out wide and maintaining that compact block in the middle. But hey, it's early days and who knows.

I think he is equally as capable at progressing the ball forward as his delivery. thats his biggest benefit to this team now his ablity to always move the ball forward, he doesnt have the legs to constantly get up the wing to be in those positions to whip balls in or turn up at the back post.
In the games so far the fullbacks have been inverting into cm to join the holding midfielder and free up the other two cms to pile forward.
He wont be cutting in from the wing forcing himself onto his left foot... he will be moving off the ball into CM. Tavs numbers have dropped off massively cos he cant get up and down the way he used to. He went from prob averaging around 20 goals a season with us to 5 lsat season.
Thats how we have been playing int he two games we have seen and by all accounts was the exact same yesterday. Might also explain why Aarons took Yilmaz number this season, the team we put out yesterday will prob be the team that starts against Panathanikos

If his hamstrings are gone then that's a problem, but when he's fit he's clearly a better option than Jefte who is one of the most absent-minded defenders I've ever seen and is an attacking fullback by intent only, because he's incredibly ineffective going forward.

I don't understand why Yilmaz has never been really valued with us. I get that he's a midget, but he's still a lot better defensively than Jefte is and he's previously played that inverted role for us well. I'd be keeping him and looking to move Jefte on.

cos he plays for about 3/4 games then is out for 2 months, then comes back for 2 games.... rinse and repeat. plus he aint good enough... not much between him and Jefte (yilmaz is much better at 1 on 1 defending) , Jefte slightly better going forward, quicker and stronger also. Jefte can stay fit for consecutive games.
Jefte all day long imo. punt Yilmaz off to the first mug to put an offer in.

If his hamstrings are gone then that's a problem, but when he's fit he's clearly a better option than Jefte who is one of the most absent-minded defenders I've ever seen and is an attacking fullback by intent only, because he's incredibly ineffective going forward.

yeah thats what 5/6? hamstring injuries with us and about 9 for his career. the other benefit that Jeft has is that he is only 21 and on a fraction of the wage of Yilmaz
