It was the worst kept secret in sports and absolutely abhorrent that everyone involved allowed him to go on for so long.
I know tons of Arsenal fans in real life who despised seeing his name on the team sheet, this isn’t a holier than thou - my club would do better - type thing as the majority of football clubs are morally bankrupt. I hope the club gets into a lot of trouble for this

I think so. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have the strongest case against him but they've had to go for it now before he leaves the country as it'll be their last chance.

Purely a guess but given the timing, it seems likely that the evidence isn't clear enough to make it a simple arrest. Again a guess but the police have pulled the trigger now fearing he'll be leaving the country permanently due to no longer being tied to Arsenal.
Hasn't it been over two years since the accusations surfaced? Given that, it appears this isn't some open and shut case the police are convinced they'll win (this is all irrelevant of actual guilt, I'm talking about likely outcomes/reasons for the timing).
Yeah I get the impression that Arsenal releasing him is forcing their hand. 3 years to build a case up to that point is pretty nuts though.
If I remember rightly, Everton suspended Sigurdsson for something similar, only for the CPS to drop the charges? The club lost a load of cash, and Sigurdsson now plays for a bowl of fish stew and a crusty roll.

I think you are stretching your imagination a bit there Genius, to suggest somehow Kier Starmer is involved with anything Partey got up to. This sounds like something GB News may put out.
It is about the standard time of a case of that nature. Albeit Arsenal would of seeked legal advice and im sure played a part in not renewing his contract.
