Frustrating when on the edge of their penalty area and within 15 seconds its back to Meslier
It's early, but, looks like the recruitment team have
done an excellent job while not blowing the budget.
Three or four more of the rumoured incomings and
it's over to Farke to see what he can get out of them.
A lot to be happy about.

100% Good run out, good signs.
Well a big improvement on the last time we played Man U in a pre season friendly under Marsch when we lost 4 nil and subsequently got relegated that season so without getting carried away this result may indicate we'll be able to hold our own against the majority of EPL sides and by the time our starting 11 is complete be at least capable of getting to the magic 40 point survival target with games to spare. Encouraging vibes!!!
Thought the 3 central midfields was a real effective shield to the back 4. It allowed Bogle to get forwards also. 4-5-1 could well be an option we take meaning we might not sign a number10. With 5 central midfielders at the club perhaps this is the clue as to how we might be heading.
A GK and striker might be all we are chasing now.

Similar thoughts apart from we will also sign a LW. That will have to be a star like Paixao seems to be. Otherwise we just won't score enough
A lot has been said online for the last 2 or 3 weeks
that suggests we will not sign a 10. I listened to one
bloke talking about how the 10 is less integral these
days in the modern game.
A GK and a striker obviously but I keep reading about this Uche from Getaffe a big strong unit that can play wide left central mid and attacking mid and has a £20 million release clause so if we get him and Paixao and the Stach deal also seems to be close then I must applaud our owners and recruitment team for showing the ambition I had questioned giving us the best possible chance of surviving our first season back.

You know. I’m worried about Willie.
Was thinking this a lot last season and again today.
Great attacking but loses ball too much and if we’re not expecting him to do that we’ll be out of shape and potentially punished.
But I’m being pinnicky.
Could really say the same about Ramazzani.
If you don’t try things we end up ineffective.
As long as midfield geared up to expect it we should be ok.
Lets see
Thought that was positive today. They looked like they knew what they were trying to do, even with limited time for the new faces. Showed we do need a bigger squad though than we had last year

I though Gnonto was excellent today and he's the type of player that looks better in the Premier League than the Championship.
Playing 4-3-3 gives more freedom to the front 3 to lose the ball taking risks that could lead to goals too.
Also.
Nick Pope anyone?

Graham Smyth confirmed Bamford not part of plans. You'll be overjoyed Batty
I understand Schmidt was with the squad but injured
A bit surprised Harrison was involved today and going by Farke's comments it's not completely out of the question he will stay which maybe is because it now looks likely Paixao will be going to Marseille as a deal for £30 million appears to have been agreed so with Ramazani
also on that left side unless Solomon returns late in the transfer window I'm thinking Leeds will operate this season with DJ Gnonto Ramazani and Jack as our wide men but the situation may change.
Surely no place for a lightweight like Aaronson, but he is a df favorite.

Yes you're bang on Sir KB I was wrong gosh I forget it was under Bielsa and attributed it all to Jesse Marsch who I think we lost to A Villa one nil before our relegation season but I think we also played Man U in a pre season
friendly before last season and lost 2 nil so either way it's a refreshing improvement on not getting beat by them and fingers crossed it bodes well for the forthcoming season.
Looking back though under the iconic Bielsa we obviously played some great stuff but didn't half take some spankings off Man U.
I remember we took a number of spankings off a few clubs that season under Bielsa … 7-0 against Man City … 1-4 v Arsenal … 6-0 v Liverpool … 0-4 v Spurs … then the inevitable happened.
Didn't we look awful in the pre-season friendlies immediately before the Stoke game 2018/19.
Pre-season friendlies are no indication of how well the team will perform in the league games.
