Pointless cup, how many other leagues have 2 domestic cups? I think Germany did but their second one was some weird competition at the start of the season and was abolished a decade or so ago.

Think the CWC is unlikely to give the same amount in prize money in future. Saudi money was the source of the prize money, which helped (gave) them the 2034 WC.

Need to get rid of international games during the league season as a priority, that would sort a fair few issues.

IMO any team in the European competitions should be exempt from the league cup that season.
Although in saying that, it could well be to the detriment of squad/youth players, but you’d hope they got minutes in the FA cup vs lower league teams or against weaker European opponents.

Whenever I see CWC, I always think of the Cup Winners Cup, before correcting myself that this now refers to the Club World Cup.

They sold 2 million tickets fir 3.5 million seats. 36k average attendance. The opening matxh had a. 85% price reduction in order yo sell tickets. Around 56% seats fill during the group stage and 63% in the knock out stages. Sundowns Vs Ulsan was in a 25.5k stadium and only got around 3k attendance. Dortmund Vs Ulsan got around 8.2k. Quite a few matches didn't even hit half the stadium attendance. They did do well in viewing numbers, specially in Spanish speaking countries.

If they continue this each year, it will be an issue. One wvery 4 years? Maybe. But lets be honest. If they weren't willing to give out billions to clubs and organisations taking part, this would not be what it turned out to be.
