Call me insensitive but there are far better causes that the money could have used towards.

Liverpool have already agreed to pay the rest of Jota’s contract to his family which is probably more than most families earn in a lifetime.

And who is best placed to decide how the brothers would have wanted that money used? The family. For the fincancial security of their loved ones, or for causes, that is their choice.

I agree its probably not neccessary to donate anything. But tragedy isn't easy to respond to.

There are Portuguese players in the Chelsea squad and other players who probably knew Jota well. I'd guess there were times during that tournament they thought of their friend. They decided to donate some money for the family.

They and Chelsea arn't making a big deal about it, just a few oppo fans who will try to point score over anything.
