By the looks of his injury record, I suspect its more of a mental problem than a physical one. I think Farke is a fairly demanding coach, and good at the mental side of the game. Will be interesting to see how he deals with Okafor.
Ability-wise, he's leaps and bounds above where we are at the moment.
Feels like a risk and overpriced. From clips it is clear that he will be our best direct dribbler which is something we need.
But comes with loads of doubts about why he hasn't been able to stay fit or be a success in Italy.
But let's not pretend the club and Farke aren't aware of this. They know. They must have evidence they believe reassures them. It's not like when Orta was making decisions when hope and ambition could be enough to alleviate concerns. Mistakes will still happen but hopefully this will be another that 49ers get right.
like the look and sound of him, injury record aside.
I saw a post ages ago questioning us buying an AC Milan fringe player..
am prepared to give this one a 'lets see' before I comment too much,
Tierry Henry signed from the Juve reserves for Arsenal...
then again, Roque Junior also signed from Milan for Leeds... which went slightly sideways to say the least.
lets hope he can stay fit.. because I think there is a player in there
Hopefully stays fit, mentally and physically. Looks a cracking player
Farke said he wanted 2 attackers other night so I expect this one and another one coming in at least.
Probably spells the end for Largie

Does look that way.
Have a feeling Gnonto might be sold on the last day.
Plus, there's still a lot of deadwood on the periphery
we can't seem to shift. Going to be a very busy
week or so.
Lumbago?
Is this another Yeboah and we are actually signing a 40 year old man.
Must admit I was shocked when I googled his medical history. Looks like a huge risk at €20m but I guess we have to trust the club on this one.
Maybe another Raphinha if we are very very lucky.

Not a popular statement, but think we should let Gnonto go
Can't see Gnonto going at all. Ramazani will imo, 100%. Think we'll go in for Solomon late on if we move Harrison and Ramazani
Cant see Gnonto going and think he can offer something in the Prem. He looked better than James on Monday.
I hope the club have checked his attitude/ ‘fit’, looks like a gangster rapper on his socials

We all had a laugh at the toothache, but it was the persistent soft muscle injuries that worried me Stoops. It’s not your one bad injury… it’s something every year.

Lots of talk about Largie being loaned out, which I think will be a big shame.
Harrison is being bedded in by the club, he is clearly being given advice on what is good PR and he has not really done anything wrong lets be honest, he cannot be held responsible for his mother's big mouth. He clearly stays.
I think Aaronson stays as well.
The other person who might move on according to rumour, though again I personally think it makes little sense as we saw Farke trusts him and there's a capable player there is Gruev.
Can’t see Gruev going unless we get Kalvin back. Gruev is solid and can come on when the going gets tough like he did on Monday.
Largie I would keep but that would mean:
James
Gnonto
Largie
Okafor
Harrison
Unless he sees Okafor as a second striker?
I think you are correct with Jack. He stays as he knows the league, knows the club and can also drop in at left back if required.
So if anyone goes my guess is Willie or Largie which would be a huge shame. Hopefully only a loan with no option to buy.
Solomon will be a lone if we can sort it. I can’t see us buying him.
Perri - Darlow
Bogle - New FB
Rodon - Bornauw
Struijk - Bijol
Gudmundsson - Byram
Ampadu - Gruev
Stach - Longstaff
Tanaka - New signing
Okafor - Harrison
Gnonto - James
DCL - Nmecha
That’s 22 + Cairns, Piroe, Aaronson
Schmidt, Ramazani to go on loan. Bamford left out or leave.
Home grown: Cairns, Bogle, Byram, Struijk, Ampadu, Longstaff, James, DCL, Nmecha, Gnonto. So no concerns there as 8 needed.
I think that’s the plan for the squad now
Meslier to leave as well of course
But Faith did you not hear Paraag saying that they were going to spend every available penny, with the implication that they were still looking for another striker. And that most deals happen in the last days of the window.

Okafor might be that striker. Which means a full back might be our last signing.
Think we will be after a 10/winger of the vibe of El Khannous, even if it isn't him because he ends up at Palace. Maybe retake a look at Buendia close to the end of the window, when Villa may be more willing to cut a deal.
Largie going out on loan signs fine to me. Get him some starting minutes at a good team, so if we get relegated he can come in and play a more consistent role in a promotion season.
Rumour is, it’s Buonanotte or Spertsyan.
Can see advantages for either from what I’ve read and seen clips.
Buonanotte can offer more out wide which means more availability and allows more opportunity for Okafor to play up top if we have injury problems up there and if Okafor is fit of course. Prem experience. Used to high press at Brighton.
Spertsyan had time under Farke in Russia although no matches. Great set piece taker. Probably more of an 8 than Buonanotte but as can’t play wide probably means he can’t play in the same team as Tanaka. Ampadu and Stach will play every game they can. I guess Tanaka and a 10 is something we can do to break down a low block if we are behind.
A proper alternative to Tanaka def required though. Without him the midfield looks lacking in technical ability.
I think it'll be between Spertsyan and Hamer for the 10/flex forward role. Both been linked a while. Full back
cover for sure. If Justin's injury isn't serious, probably
be him. Then maybe one surprise signing or loan.
Christantus Uche's name keeps popping up.
Other Prem teams interested though.
