It's still the salmon fishing season here. Things will pickup from October. Just before the traditional Christmas slump; the usual New Year collapse and the standard Easter debacle. 🐧

Went last season for the hard-fought 0-0 and have been there a few times over the years but I’m struggling to think of a win that I have witnessed. Not going to this one. I’ve got a mate who supports Burnley and he’s not going either which probably sums up the amount of interest in the fixture.

I’m walking the West Highland Way early October, Heb. Not quite on your doorstep but any advice gratefully received. I’ve done a bit of research and as a consequence have invested in strong bicycle clips as I’ve heard that the young haggises can be quite frisky and eager for any opportunity to explore an inviting trouser leg.

I've done most of it but not as a single endeavour. Lots of useful advice online. My only comment is that October weather in the West Highland's can stretch from hot and shirt-sleeve order to snow. Midges will be gone by than but pack for every eventuality. 🏴

1975 we blasted them off the pitch. Big Rog’ having one of his purple patches. The station is about a 100 ft above Turf Moor if you are going by train. Was once hit with a battery thrown by the locals. Why can’t they dispose of them in a safe and responsible manner. Their fans are shaved chimps.

Take a rain coat. It’s a tough walk. Hope you are using luggage transfer because a long day of Scotch mist will soak everything.

Luggage transfer! Why not get a taxi? Even easier.....

Might it rain? I suppose I will need to get some sort of awning constructed for the sedan chair. I don’t want any of it blowing in on me and diluting the cocktails.

The ghillies will be happy to be carrying you. Do keep them enthralled with tales of the south.....but do not tip too generously, can lead to clan feuds.

Vidal, can I suggest that your pre-expedition reading should include "The Ascent of Rum Doodle" by W E Bowman. Some useful information, and you won't be disappointed.
posted 2 weeks, 4 days ago
It sounds brilliant Heb I have ordered a copy. Thanks for the tip.
