Midfield looks a bit functional, needing a bit more guile but we don't know 6when Deki will return and Maddison is a massive miss. Xavi will take time to settle especially if playing @ 10.
Overall it feels like we've bought in some star quality and some experience who can walk straight into the team.
Need 2 or 3 players to really step up and others to break through.

I think people saying 5-7 are being very optimistic for a team that finished 17th last year, a lot of things need to fall into place to make a jump like that.
I think top ten, but a good foundation to build on if levy doesn’t sack yet another manager in the summer .

I don't think us finishing 17th has any relevance on this season.
The injuries we had were unprecedented and second half of the season it was pretty clear where our priorities lay.
I think we can definitely push for top 4 but would say 6th would be on par for us.
You would expect improvement from the youngsters who all got a lot of experience last season in the likes of Gray, Tel, Odobert and Bergvall.
Then we have brought in four ready made first team players.
Like a lot of people are saying that if we get lucky with injuries it should be a good season.

It really does. We have no idea what damage that did to the players last year. Being allowed to effectively dump the premier league off gave them excuses for lack lustre performances and I think the hangover from that was apparent on Saturday.
I hope you’re all right. I just don’t see it with such optimism. Top four is a huge challenge. Arsenal, Liverpool and city will get top three, leaving one place for United, Chelsea, Newcastle, villa, spurs, forest to fight out for. Losing at home to Bournemouth is a disaster of a result, even this early in the season. Hence the idiocy of those gloating that such late transfers do not hurt our season. Utter levy supporting nonsense.
Personally I think we will finish 8th. Which will be a huge improvement on last year. But might not be enough to stop levy going for his usual reset.

I think you're making too much of this. Surely any damage would be offset by winning a trophy for the first time? I mean we have already won 2 games out of 3 as it is, when league wins had become impossible to find by the end of last season. Of course we don't have Ange anymore which is a huge change also.
We finished 17th but we all know it was never a true reflection of where we should have been. Getting 5th the season before that was closer to the mark.
After Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man City, you've then got the likes of Newcastle, United, Villa, which is the sort of level we'd fall into right now IMO. We've already made a better start than all 3, so I think 5th-7th seems a reasonable guess for where we'd finish.

I think it's hard to measure this window with any great certainty. I know there's a temptation to laud the business we've done in getting 4 seemingly first 11 players in but have we? I think if you rewind to January, we all thought Tel would come in and be a nailed on starter. Now there are grumbles of discontent even when he comes off the bench. So with that in mind, this could be an 8/10 window or a 6/10. Players like Kudus and Paulinha offer a level of certainty because of their Premier League experience but we have no idea how Simons and Muani will do. They could tear it up and become 100m players overnight. Or, they could make us regret not pushing the boat out for proven Prem players like Savinho and Eze.
The way things have gone with Tel makes me apply an abundance of caution, even with those we get really excited about. For al the hype, we have no idea how it will go so those calling Simons an upgrade on Eze haven't the faintest idea about football frankly. I hope that's the case but we've no idea yet.

You can judge the window on paper, having just made the signings, and you can judge it retrospectively after time has passed when you get to see how well the new players have done. Two different things really. It's like the window when we sold Bale, it looked great on paper at the time. A couple of years later it's looked a very poor window.
We can only judge this window mostly on paper right now and on that basis I'd say about a 7. It's a good window but it could and should have been even better.

Apparently this is the official Villareal supporters statement:
"Meet Manor Solomon. He proudly and outwardly supports Israel's genocide and illegal occupation of Palestine and its people.
Manor Solomon is not welcome at Villarreal and does not deserve the affection of its supporters."
Fair play to them.
On the overall window, I think about a 7/10, and we've definitely improved the squad on last season. We're not going to be challenging for the title or probably Champions League, but after last season if we can get comfortably top half and pushing for a European spot then that's acceptable progress after the shambles of last season. Anything above that would be a massive bonus.

Nice bit of anti semitism. Of course the war in Gaza is mostly Manor Soloman's fault. Just like when Clint Dempsey played for Spurs, Dempsey was to blame for the genocide that was the Vietnam war.

Don't get me started on Klinnsmann. In any war or conflict, it's really professional footballers who are to blame rather than politicians or governments.

8/10 window for me. We must wait the mandatory 10 games before declaring all our new players to useless, the club is being run by charlatans and Levy has to go.

Fair enough. What if they decided the entire future of Israel and Gaza with a football match between Israel and Palestine with Netanyahu managing Israel? Could we comment in your thread then?

Brothers comment is idiotic but I'll leave it there.
As I mentioned I'd give the window a 7 but I think if at the start of the window we were told these would be our signings I think most of us would be pretty happy.
