hopefully we go back in for Savinho in Jan after he hasnt played much for City and still wants to leave

midfield is just as much of a concern for me still with no deep lying playmaker. i like the addition of Palhinha on loan but hes limited, bit like Sarr, will thrive more in big games

I am happy with the calibre of player signed, and targeted all window. The penny finally seems to have dropped in that regard.

However, we needed 2 more at least. We are short of quality LCB / LB cover (especially if we want to have the option of 3 / 5 at the back in some games), and we have a flaring gap at LW.

As things stand I would probably play Richarlison out there with Kolo Muani down the middle.

Sad state of affairs that is.

shot ourselves in the foot with the investments in Tel and Odobert tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
One or both should go on loan in January if we can buy an upgrade like Savinho.

Bergvall and Gray to start to come through hopefully.

I am happy that we start to put a bit of faith in them. If not now then when?

Bergvall should defo start deep in pivot in some games considering the options we have

Gray im not sure about could have done with a loan out to a PL or good championship team playing lots of minutes in midfield

I guess thats the Challenge at Spurs.... Levy buys them based on talent, age and opportunity for profit. We hire a manager renowned for improving players yet the first thing he does is goes out and gets a proven pro with top level experience in their position.. same with Tel and Odobert and yet we go buy Kudos, Kolo and Xavi.... Hard for these kids to improve if they are gonna be subs, starting lower level cup games or only play in an injury crisis... Its a bit of a vicious circle

I prefer the model Arsenal, City & Chelsea have.... They have their academy in great shape... If the players are good enough they make it, if not they get sold on. The bulk of their spending goes on improving the first team trying to win.

We sign young players never give them a real opportunity because we are rarely in a position where they can come into the team under no pressure.... they then just fade away

not giving up but just loads of risk and further squad bloating, more players to struggle to sell etc

Odobert loan would have made sense tbf

Good example would be Arsenal keeping their kids around the 1st team and givng them minutes because they are a good enough team their inexperience doesn't hurt them... We have Moore (Our best youth product for years) who finally gets a look now Son has gone and yet we have players head of him that most people doubt are good enough (BJ, Odobert, Tel)

Moore isn't good enough yet.

Saw some of Ranger's game last weekend and he needs alot of time.

Firstly - Chelsea's model is based on 'opportunity for profit' Spurs is not. YOu misunderstand our transfer strategy if you think we are seeking profits. You also misunderstand Chelsea's if you think they are not seeking profit, all they do is seek profit!! and for all their dealings this summer, they've kinda stood still.

I would also suggest if Spurs touted Moore as the heir to Son then fans would be unhappy Many on here have stated we're short at the LW and thats a comment about quality, not quality as we have loads of options for LW.

Whatever you think of Moore, the likes of Tel and Odobert are streets ahead of him. He played a bit part role last season and did ok, the opportunity to do so this season, with UCL, will be much less. BJ is limited but 18 goals last season was a crucial contribution.

If some of these players do not shine, then there is nothing stopping us moving them on (Like Chelsea do) BJ, Odobert, for example, are far from indispensable and we will learn a lot about them this season.

Apparently this is the official Villareal supporters statement:
"Meet Manor Solomon. He proudly and outwardly supports Israel's genocide and illegal occupation of Palestine and its people.

Manor Solomon is not welcome at Villarreal and does not deserve the affection of its supporters."

Fair play to them.

On the overall window, I think about a 7/10, and we've definitely improved the squad on last season. We're not going to be challenging for the title or probably Champions League, but after last season if we can get comfortably top half and pushing for a European spot then that's acceptable progress after the shambles of last season. Anything above that would be a massive bonus.

Some bizarre quotes from Poch on Barcelona

Mauricio Pochettino told @elchiringuitotv.

🗣️ "I think Espanyol is a much more independent and much more Catalan club than Barcelona. I always try to explain it, so that no one gets offended. They say Barça is more than a club. What does that mean? That children need to be indoctrinated with certain ideas? I think Barcelona is wrong about that. Every football team has its own culture, and Barça is a great club, but I don't agree with what they want to make me buy or what they want to sell to people."

Weird guy. On another note, are people still holding a candle for lemonhead?

Salvation doesn't come through church attendance or religion. The reason I asked is because I want to see as many people saved as possible. Sandy and I certainly had our differences over the years but I would still be delighted if he gave his life to Christ. As for believing if Jesus existed or not, there is sufficient evidence that anyone who isn't a complete idiot would at least acknowledge that he lived the life he lived.

You wish you'd seen this comment sooner, so you could mock me and my faith? Well that's nice. I wasn't accusing anyone of being an idiot. Merely making the point that any historian with an ounce of credibility knows Jesus lived in Israel approximately 2000 years ago and was crucified by the Romans. Incidentally, the evidence for some of the Roman emperors like Julius Caeser is flimsy in comparison with the evidence for Jesus. Lucky for you God is extremely forgiving 😉

posted 2 weeks, 3 days ago

There are zero contemporary accounts of Jesus' existence.

Personally, I think a guy called Jesus probably did exist at that time, and was quite possibly crucified, and quite possibly claimed to be the son of god. But it's far from concrete evidence.

You are absolute entitled to your beliefs whatever they are, just like I am entitled to dismiss them or mock them. You started with the insults first by suggesting anyone who doubted the existence of Jesus was an idiot.
