Should have sold Piroe
I don't believe we have maxed out to PSR. Don't think Marathe would have been so boastful before Everton game if we could only spend another £10m. Also don't think we would have loaned both Joseph & Ramazani. We would have accepted the sale of at least 1.
Worried about the signing of Okafor. A lot of pressure on him to be a success and not good injury record. I can't lose my head though because I don't know enough about how injury prone he is likely to be or how good a player he can be. But I am worried. I will know whether to lose it by the start of October probably.
The club obviously could have signed Solomon instead but I don't think he will be effective at this level. Club decided to spend a lot more than it would have cost to bring solomon in on Okafor so they obviously have high hopes. They should know more about him than me so hopefully they're right.
Happy with DCL & Nmecha given that both frees. Definitely a risk given injury records. But DCL easily the highest quality striker signed by the promoted clubs. Just hope he stays fit. I guess with budget restraints it could be a necessary gamble. Nmecha a good player for a bottom half team too. These are the right profil of strikers for our situation. Seen a lot of the attention seekers claiming we haven't improved our attack. Well how has our first choice 9 become our 3rd choice then?
Missing out on Buonanotte is a big loss. I don't blame the club for this but do blame the club for not having an alternative. Not good enough. The loss of a top class set piece taker is huge and among his other qualities could be really costly. 16 Games until the window opens.
Stach, Gudmundsson, Bijol, Perri, Longstaff are all players that I am very happy with. Diarra would have been better than Diarra but budget restraints are real. How much better is Diarra than Tanaka? From what I have seen so far I take Stach over Diarra too.
If Buonanotte had arrived as expected then it would be an 8/10 window for me.
With the only doubts around the fitness of DCL/Nmecha & how good Okafor is.
Buonanotte means that we are also concerned about the balance of the squad, the lack of set piece taker, and what happens if Tanaka is out for a number of games.
Probably makes it a 6/10.
Not a complete disaster as it does feel, recency bias etc. but shoudl have been better.
Still guarantee we finish above Burnley, expect us to finish above Sunderland and give us a good chance of Brentford & Wolves.
offer me 38 points now and I probably take it and role the dice on 3 sides below us though.

Its black and white for me.
If its maxed out, how come we was willing to spend money in the last week 🤷🏻♂️
So either its bull, or we was willing to break the rules
posted 3 weeks, 4 days ago
Think we assumed we'd get money for Geldhart, Meslier, Joseph instead of two loans and no sale. Probably expected a bid of 20+ for Struijk which could have gone towards another player.
I could tell you that I'm going to a Ferrari dealership tomorrow. You don't know that I don't intend to buy one, just going for a look. Perhaps we were never in for Muniz or Paixao for 30 mil each.

And you don't break the rules to get Wilson in who you had no interest in signing before his agent was told to find him a way out by Fulham

I seem to definitely remember reading in about June this year Graham Smyth or in The Athletic that even without sales Leeds had a maximum of £150 million at their disposal and could still stay onside with PSR so that's why I find this Evans statement unbelievable but not a
lot we can do unless we lose our next two games and
the Elland Road crowd give our owners pelters which I
also can't understand why they would not only risk the
EPL status of Leeds by leaving Farke with a fragile looking forward department, but potentially seriously damaging their own investment if we get relegated. Headscratching stuff!!!

The following could have easily been outlined to us in advance. We could have had our debates about whether to sell or keep, but at least some trust would have been there.
Evans added: “Leeds come from almost the exact opposite position [to Sunderlamd]. Last year, Leeds had to get promoted because of the level of past player investment, wage bill, etc. So we doubled down on as much quality as possible last season to maximise our promotion on it.
“So we've carried a big wage bill two years ago, a big bill a year ago. We lost roughly £60million pounds in our company's accounts record in fiscal year 2024. That loss is inside of our three-year PSR window.
“Between two years in the Championship and one year in the Premier League, our allowable PSR losses are at £61m. So those numbers are very similar, meaning this year we have to operate very efficiently to make our three-year window work.
“Within that, we have frankly been able to get more done due to a combination of aggressive contracting and commercial success and other elements to maximise our spend this season, to get more player quality than expected.
