Basically, Leeds rolled the dice on over paying top Championship players (Shaun’s mentioned it as our 100 million quid Champo squad), leaving us barely enough
To build a squad when we did get to the Prem.

I think one poster one here said Prem has never been
Easier to stay up in. We shall see.

There's some interesting rants by Waccoe on twitter regarding the overall performance of Paraag and his merry men which I can't get the exact link but if you just tap in Waccoe in search on twitter (X) you can read them which I don't agree with all of what is said because they've dismissed Bijol and Gudmundsson as average signings but the bit about Paraag being more interested and focused on Rangers now spending many important weeks away up in Glasgow during this transfer window definitely deserves critisism plus I was surprised to read the club turned down a significant bid for Piroe during this window.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Seen that and a lot of it was exaggerated to say the least. Some just straight up lies.

I’m not sure why there can’t be more balanced opinions. Be critical of what went wrong without having to pretend everything’s gone wrong.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wacoe of adds a different perspective on X about Leeds United (formerly known as Leeds City 🙄)

There is one thing being a little opaque….it is a different thing telling outright lies.

Always.

I’d rather we did a Forest and get the absolute
Best, most balanced squad we can. Always.

I don’t expect my club to then use PSR as an excuse
For failure to build the best, most balanced Prem
Squad we can the very next summer when all they’ve
Done since April is say we were going to back Farke.

Farke hasn’t been backed fully. Now the excuses start.
He’ll pay with his job. And as much as I don’t rate him
As high as some, he doesn’t deserve to be the club’s
Scapegoat.

I think our defensive and midfield recruits have been fine. Im not sure about Justin think we paid over the odds for him but will give him benefit of the doubt.

My main concern is the lack of goals so far and the board haven't done much about it. Okafor and DCL concern me with their injury records. Im honestly not sure even a fit DCL gets us the goals we need.

I do think James will come good, just seems off it at the moment. Im happy we kept Struijk who i think is underrated by a lot of our fanbase.

Gnonto has been pretty good in the games so far but hasnt landed a glove on the openents. Stach i dont thinl should be taking set pieces. Should be in the box.

Anyway sorry to rattle on. Fingers crossed we do enough to stay up.

I am still annoyed by the end of the window as Farke wanted attacking options that never materialised. We have brought in some good players and at home in 2 games we have looked pretty solid. I am concerned about DCL and Nmecha, fitness and will they score the goals that will keep us up? Piroe is untested but for me he can’t play the lone striker role in the PL. The window is now closed and now we must get behind the team and Farke and hope we get lucky with injuries and have enough to stay up.

Who did we over pay on 🤷🏻‍♂️

And to be fair, we are the 10th highest net spenders

Forest's strategy won them 38 points and then 32 points the following season. They only survived because Luton, Burnley & Sheff Utd completely effed it up.

They didnt have a strategy, they lost 27 players when they went up, so literally had to build a complete new squad.

They were terrible that first season, got abit of luck, and stayed up 👏👏👏

Well done, but lets not pretend, it was all part of some masterplan

Buonanotte not included in Chelsea squad list for Champions League just after saying

"It’s a great step in my career. I’ll get the opportunity to play in the Champions League for the first time, which will be a great challenge."

What an idiot.

Do players under 21 have to register?

posted 3 weeks, 1 day ago

U21 players can go onto list b if they meet certain criteria which he doesn’t and therefore isn’t included.

Bit unfair. He has a point. It will be a great challenge to play if not in the squad.

The Chelsea - Strasbourg - Brighton thing needs looking at. Seems something dodgy?

Loopholes maybe re Strasbourg but why do Brighton always seem to have a weird relationship thing with Chelsea

posted 3 weeks ago

There's a lot of fans who have gone down this route of;

It's really frustrating that the club failed to sign 1 or 2 key players in the attacking line that would have been the difference maker we really need...therefore all the previous signings that I previously was excited about are now completely useless too.

Stach - Excellent signing/excited we got him
Gudmundsson - Excellent signing/excited we got him

Bijol - Highly regarded/excited we got him
Perri - Highly regarded/excited we got him

Bornauw - ?????/5 mill
Justin - ?????/10 mill
DCL - Was he the second best option behind Muniz as the club is now spinning it? Like him/Can he stay injury free?
Nmecha - Like him
Okafor - Like him/Can he stay injury free?
Longstaff - He’s alright/Hard worker/Decent bench player

Farke wanted 2 more. The fans picked up on his
Quotes and the club’s chatter about “things always
Heat up at the end of the window” - expectations were set and the fans went with it. Nothing happened.

Farke must be as frustrated as most fans.

Now club are touting the retention of Meslier as
Being good for the club and him. In reality,
Our 24 man squad now has 4 keepers. And
We’ve been told after all that bravado and
Build up, no frees and no business in January.

🤷🏽‍♂️

If seen alot of this too Faith.

“how great our recruitment has been since Orta left”

Now

“we massively overspent on champ players”

“We need to spend massively in Jan”

Now

“we spent too much money in champ”

Listened to the square ball and I dont know how some people interpreted it as what they have.

Their view, which I agree with was the start of the window was good and we got a lot of good business in early in areas that we needed but the second half of the window was a letdown.

The striker business they have done was limited and its relying on our medical team to keep them fit, however we signed decent strikers but its just too much of a risk and would have preferred players who were not free who while good on paper come with too big a risk due to those injuries.

I dont think they can honestly have listened to all of it.

Yes they are disappointed with the ending like all of us, but are still pretty confident of staying up

Also I love the square ball. But they tell us every podcast how little they know about football. On the members show this week they were asked who our best loan players ever are and they did t mention Ben white. Nor Solomon. Great entertainment but not technical insight.

The title of the podcast I listened to:

INSIDE THE DEADLINE DAY DISASTER |
Beren Cross | The Square Ball

For me, ‘Disaster’ depicts a pretty bleak day.

Beren paints the ownership’s view in the first section.
Then around the 5:10 mark he says (from his viewpoint)

“Bit of a mess really.”

Dan and Michael throughout are clearly not thrilled.
And say so in their own very humorous sarcastic way.
Which I love. Dan talked about the first half of the
Window being 7 out of 10. The end of it 2 out of 10.
The end of a window we managed to overpay for a
Back up fullback. Dan also called it a ‘sh * t show’
Of a window.

Not sure what some actually listened to?

Oh I get it, now just because fans agree with the
Square Ball’s view, they know fck all about football.
Right. Award winning podcast and fanzine. But
Know nothing. Of course. That’s it.

Maybe two or three on here missed their calling.

This news of Levy leaving Spurs and Spurs fans rejoicing reminds me of when Bates left and sold us to the only penniless Arabs in existence, passed the baton onto Celino who passed it on to Radz who was succeeded by the current mob....I reckon out of all those that have
pulled the strings at Leeds, Levy if he'd be given such an opportunity would have been by some margin the lesser of all evils which just goes to show the absolute sh 1te Leeds fans have had to endure over the years and still endure compared to Spurs...they think they've had it bad!
