Maeda yellow card - 7-0 in favour of decision

- Pen all day long and should have received a second yellow IMO. He didnt just 'fall over'. He clearly launched himself in the path of a shot that was on target with the intent to block it. In the end he used his arm to block it which was only where it was because Ralston decided to launch himself in the way he did.
Cornelius yellow card - 5-2 in favour of decision
- One of the 'seen them given' situations. I remember Kevin Thomson getting sent off for similar. In the old days wouldnt even have been a foul as he won the ball. Definately not a clear cut red and on balance id agree with the refs vote that a yellow was enough.
Celtic fans obviously wont agree with a lot of this but the FIFA refs opinions suggest once more they have been on the fortunate end of a couple of big decisions.

Yet they say we get all the big decisions.

Haven’t we moved on from all this?
Big games for us on Thursday and for me I think it’s a bridge too far for us. Mitjyland are flying in this competition and we are down to the bare bones in personnel. Didn’t Trusty look like he was struggling towards the end of the game on Sunday?
posted 5 days, 5 hours ago
Cornelius was the most contentious outcome I think. Said at the time he was lucky.
Trusty was fortunate, and the force part whether folk like it or not is the deciding factor clearly. Some of the language used to describe it (Billy Dodds said he raked his studs down his face) and some of the analogies used to justify a stance is just wild. He tapped Butland with the side of his boot. There was so little force that whether we think that should merit a red or not is irrelevant really-he didn’t meet the bar for a red. Blame the rules rather than the person implementing them.
The ‘offside’ goal-those lines and the timing of the pass look distinctly dodgy as well.
Ralston was a debatable penalty. The contact by Miovski on him before it is being ignored, but I’d still want a penalty for it. Precedent appears to be there for no further action. Scales was behind him, and didn’t jump out the way of the shot.
No idea why Maeda would ever be considered for anything other than a yellow.
The Hatate incident not being mentioned is odd. As is the foul on Osmand late on by Cornelius that was missed. Osmand was away and with a chance for a shot at goal. Foul all day long and would have been another yellow, meaning Cornelius should have been sent off.
Walsh choosing when to play advantage to us after we’d had a player fouled is another area not being mentioned. Gave us advantage when there was none and no foul called, or called it back when it was obvious advantage should have been played.
I think rangers got off light, and would prefer if we complained about the refereeing of the game, as I think we would get an apology.
Which would be glorious.

Tedious in the extreme....the game's done. Fvcking move on.
Just learnt that we can swap Osmand for the long term injured CCV into the Europa squad. Get it done. We're not getting anything in Denmark but a decent performance can keep the feel good vibes around the team

Should be a pen yes, and terrible decision not to give it....but if this happened in like the dregs of extra time when the game is done and time is just being seen out, might explain why no cvnt is giving a fck, not even Celtic fans until some randomer posts it on twitter at hawf 6 in the morning 2 days after game....and suddenly it's all relevant

I saw it at the time and thought it was odd it was glossed over.
And btw-it was in the first half of extra time. There was plenty of time for a rangers equaliser before Osmand got the 3rd.

Rangers didnt deserve anything out the game on sunday except for a wee bit of credit for the second half fight. At HT I expected it to finish 3 or 4 nil to Celtic easily.
It was good to see us keep it competitive all the way to ET and I was surprised to see Celtic struggling against the ten men of one of the worst Rangers teams I have seen in a long time.
This Rangers squad is nowhere near fit for purpose - particularly in the defence and the central striking areas. Guys like Souttar, Djiga (who I have really tried to see the player in), Chermiti, Aasgard etc will continue to let the fans down as the season progresses.
January looks important to Rangers but it will take more than one transfer window to sort this out and if Thelwell is in charge I fully expect it to be another disaster.

All fair.
Celtic aint exactly been firing either! 2H expected Rangers to be more fired up - both teams regularly needing a HT pep (not Pep) talk and really nothing to lose by going for it. Also think there'd be genuine caution that Walsh would be looking to even things up.
It felt like Celtic were managing the game. Don't lose a goal, move them about and they'll tire and see out the game. Didn't work out that way. Saw the same in ET once Rangers were more clearly toiling mentally & physically.

I think Walsh was poor-Hatate should have had a penalty when the rangers player barged him in the box, and Cornelius was a straight red as well. Glad to see MON having a go at him at the final whistle.
Another comment from this match thread.
The narrative was being built about rangers being hard done by before the final whistle. There were no replays of this incident during the game, and I've no idea if it's on any highlights which is why it's probably gone under the radar.
I don't think that changes anything about what I've said, or does it 'say it all' either.
posted 5 days, 3 hours ago
Nothing said about it...coz no-one cared about it
...in the same vein that you didn't really care all that much coz it clearly wasn't seen as a game changing incident.
Is it a very good penalty shout....it is yes, absolutely
The case put forward by you about how much of a controversial incident it was has been what....couple quick mentions?? That's really hammering home how hard done by you felt as a result of such a poor decision
....so to answer your initial question, no, I don't think Rangers have referenced that incident to Willie Collum....coz the club met with him last night, and unfortunately no-one really gave a fck about that incident until about hawf 6 today

You've just highlighted the difference yourself
One was out of control
One was intentional
----------------------------------------------------------------------
One endangered the opponent-by breaking his jaw such was the force.
One didn’t even leave a bit of dirt.
And intent is pretty difficult to prove. That’s very subjective of you. Especially for a guy that was done debating refereeing decisions.
Anyway, I’ll leave you to keep crying about it. Nothing said about Cornelius challenge fitting the criteria for a red with his booking, or not even conceding a foul for pulling back Osmand late on in the game that would have been another yellow at least. Ralston being pushed to the ground for your ‘penalty’, Hatate being barged off the ball in the box, and the handball from Balikwisha’s cross near the end as well. That’s before we talk about Walsh and his use of the advantage rule…

Blazers were at the game and this will be their reaction.

Maeda yellow card - 7-0 in favour of decision

Ralston penalty award - 7-0 in favour of decision

I hope rangers asked the SFA why this wasn’t a penalty-seeing as they’re representing all fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"ok people move along theres nothing to see here"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not even picked up in the analysis or highlights.
Yet they say we get all the big decisions.
If that was rangers we would never hear the end of it.

Haven’t we moved on from all this?
Big games for us on Thursday and for me I think it’s a bridge too far for us. Mitjyland are flying in this competition and we are down to the bare bones in personnel. Didn’t Trusty look like he was struggling towards the end of the game on Sunday?

Bobby Madden has canvassed 7 FIFA officials on the big decisions on sunday;
FIFA officials on Celtic vs Rangers flashpoints;
Aasgard red card - 7-0 in favour of decision
- Cant disagree. Totally unintentional and played the ball first but he unfortunately needs to be more aware of whats going on around him.
Trusty yellow card – 6-1 against decision
- Red card all day long for me. The 'force' argument is nonsense IMO. Its like saying its OK to poke someone in the eye with a screwdriver as long as its not with too much force.
Maeda yellow card - 7-0 in favour of decision
- Never a red.
Ralston penalty award - 7-0 in favour of decision

When did this happen like?
Should be a pen yes, and terrible decision not to give it....but if this happened in like the dregs of extra time when the game is done and time is just being seen out, might explain why no cvnt is giving a fck, not even Celtic fans until some randomer posts it on twitter at hawf 6 in the morning 2 days after game....and suddenly it's all relevant

You must see that’s a mental comment. Why does it matter when it happened?! A penalty is a penalty irrespective of the time of the incident.

Am I arguing that it's not a penalty....no
Hardly a mental comment to say no-one gave a fck until there's footage of it posted on twitter...that's the reality.
You might have seen it during the game.....you've said fck all about it till that clip surfaced...am I wrong?

...yes, during the game, as you said.
Been loads of chat about the ref decisions since then.....you've had plenty to say on it yourself.....not once was that incident mentioned, not by you or any other Celtic supporter on here.
So as said...needed some random guy to post video of it on twitter 2 days after the game before folk start "remembering" about it.......you seen it, fair do's.....hardly made any sort of song and dance about it till now have you

If the result and incidents had gone the other way I'd expect the same club reaction and the same SFA reaction. It's just high stakes, West of Scotland nonsense.
Blazers were at the game and this will be their reaction.
