It was hardly a Mark Bosnich.

No intent to rile, IMO.

If you're trying to do an impression of an extremely ignorant and stupid individual, i can confirm you're doing an excellent job.

Talking about apologies, has the condom factory sent an apology to your mother about your birth?

I thought he was doing a Benitez " its over, the game is finished" gesture

@Hippo on Toast: The word still means that. What a silly analogy, it wouldn't make sense in the context you're talking, nobody would say that. At least now we're at the real cause though 'waahh my player got in trouble, yours should too'.

I'm glad you said 'is more offensive than swearing in my eyes' because in my eyes, this wasn't the salute you're talking about, and for the sake of less idiots in this country, it's a shame those who think it is a salute made it out of the womb.

I think you should apologise for all the things you haven't done but that I'm going to assume you have because I don't like you solely based on the fact that you support a different team to me.

That's fair right?

It has been brought to my attention of some ridiculous allegations concerning my celebration of one of my goals yesterday. It is totally ludicrous to suggest that. my action of brushing my shoulder and pointing to my fans could be construed as anything else but of a showing of joy and celebration. To suggest this meant anything to the contrary is insulting and absolutely absurd as nothing else came into my mind.

It is sad that he even has to explain himself

Well offence is subjective isn't it? Yes that's a better analogy, although the point there is that the V sign is pretty easy to know as offensive, and simply turning the hand the other way avoids any issue. If I stick the Vs up at someone, well they're probably going to get annoyed. If I wave at them, or raise my hand to speak, well it could look a bit like a salute, but that's not the most likely explanation.

I fear I'm going in circles though, the gesture he made isn't an offensive one. The gesture people who unfortunately survived childbirth think he made is.

I'm not sure you know what what quite clearly means.

Let's all help Hippo out with the true meaning of "quite clearly"

Well, quite cleary Hippo is a t!t, and is wacking a fresh one while typing his comments.

Hippo is also quite clearly getting it up the a rse from his father.

I'd be more worried about Footballers who make waist high challenges, sh.g mates wives and have affairs than somebody giving an innocuous salute.

Well at any decent school, it would happen once and a teacher would explain why it shouldn't, and punish any repeat. I do love the 'what if kids copy it' argument. If they do then it's a shame their parents are uneducated buffoons who explain nothing to them. I think they're far more likely to copy it from their parents in the crowd (see photo evidence above).

I'd be far more concerned a kid would copy the idea of falsely accusing someone of racist abuse every time something didn't go their way, thus cheapening a very serious issue. See I can pull stuff out of my backside and reach to very dubious conclusions too!
