Why I Wouldn't Sign Adebayor

clearly depends how much he costs. if you watch spurs then you know that he has DRASTICALLY improved the way we played and makes us so much more dangerous.

he also has a good partnership with both defoe and vdv

he offers twice as much defensively as crouch and about 10 times as much offensively.

the players all like him, hes a bit of a joker in the dressing room, and that helps with team spirit.

he misses chances but he is in the right position and one day he will knock in a double hatrick.

forgot to mention that. the guy is a joke when it comes to finishing he makes ade look clinical

As we all know, the guy is capable of scoring 30 goals a season. Give him some time and he'll be knocking them in left right and centre soon enough. Though you are right to be concerned about his attitude problems later on

Silent

You make some good points but I would have to disagree. His hold-up play and vision - he set Defoe up for his goal - are top class. Maybe if we signed another top striker he wouldn't be first pick, but he's so far ahead of Pav, and better suited to playing in a 4-5-1.

Players like Aguero are beyond us at the moment, and Suarez's form of late hasn't been that amazing. Ade, Defoe and Damiao (or similar) would do for me

I believe he had the highest ever amount of shots on target in Prem history on Saturday.....

His link up play has been good no doubt about that, but as I say I think his goals to chances ratio isn't great and I only see him losing, not gaining, enthusiasm as time wears on. Obviously the price and wages are a huge factor but unless he's prepared to fit into our wage structure it's a definite no-no. He's only worth £170k a week when City are paying 100 of it.

So is James Beattie by that logic - shall we sign him too!

Agreed, and I'm not saying we are at a place where we can sign players such as Aguero, just using him as an example of how a more clinical finisher would thrive on the chances that we create, whereas Adebayor tends to make a hash of as many as he finishes. Just my opinion.

1. Because he has not scored 20+ PL goals a season for Spurs.

2. Because of his ALLEGED 170K/wk wages, regardless of what comes into the Spurs next season.

Agreed that he has missed many more chances than he's scored. How many would Berbs have put away?

I appreciate your opinion. To be honest though we haven't got anyone better or more suitable at the club. Without suggesting realistic alternatives (we would require 2 or 3 seeing as Pav needs replacing) it's just pie-in-the sky. In my opinion we should buy him, but only if the fee and wages are within our budget

I think Adebeyour has been a fine loan signing. Sure he misses goals, but name me a current striker who doesn`t.

We were all moaning last season, about lack of fire-power up front. Adebyour has just scored 4 goals in six days, helping the team to secure six points, and some of our supporters are still moaning.

It makes me wonder sometimes. Let`s just enjoy him while we have him.

Yeah your point sort of falls apart when you mention Suarez whose goals to chances ratio must be as bad if not worse than Ade's.

He isn't the most clinical of strikers, we all realise this, but he does do a lot of good work outside the box. I think we should wait and see closer to the end of the season before we decide whether he should be a permanent addition. He might improve on his clinicalness, or as you suggest he might fade out in March. I know one thing for sure is he's better than Crouch
