A talented footballer but boy what a cha.v he is!
Looks like you can take the boy out of Manchester...but he'll still keep coming back to Moss Side...
I bet you're from Moss Side
Has someone insulted him then and he's just replying?
Who is the person with the initial insult? Is he a homosexual or is it just slang abuse?
I like seaweed on the side too

I enjoy Joey Barton's tweets. Makes a nice change from the boring, semi-educated p!ss that some top footballers put out...
MM you should advertise your twitter page and educate us on your die hard football knowledge with some tweets.
No, I prefer to keep my tweets to myself

Manyoo – I think it could matter yeah.
You have to put the words into proper context… remember offensiveness is all about context.
The expression “your mum” is not in itself offensive. The words are not offensive it is the context in which they are used.
The same is true of other insults – if someone says “You’re a mother effer” – they don’t literally mean you have intercourse with mothers they are just saying a word. If someone calls someone a Clock sucker they don’t literally think the person sucks clocks – they are just mouthing off. Aren’t they?
The word Gay in some vernacular does not even mean homosexual now – it just means lame or rubbish… you have to put the words into their correct context.

To be fair, Rooney is a massive cha.v too. I met him a few years ago, he was buying a Lamborghini (for his bird) and when I mentioned it to him he said "it's a proper phatt car init our kid?"
