A talented footballer but boy what a cha.v he is!
----------------------------
To be fair, Rooney is a massive cha.v too. I met him a few years ago, he was buying a Lamborghini (for his bird) and when I mentioned it to him he said "it's a proper phatt car init our kid?"

mentioned what to him?
mentioned what to him?
--------
Here's what happened;
I worked above the showroom, when I came down he was stood in the reception looking through the brochure for the Lamborghini, I went up and introduced myself, and he told me he was waiting for his birds new car to be brought out from the back of the showroom.
I went and carried on with what I was doing, and when I came back he was sat playing on his phone, and a black Lamborghini was parked outside the door, and I said "Here's your car", and that's when he started talking cha.v.
Plenty of footballers bought their cars from that showroom, but asking for autographs was apparently "unprofessional", but I did get to speak to most of them.
Manyoo
You reject that context is important?
I find this strange… if a bunch of gangster rappers are calling each other the N word – is it offensive? The word in that context could be used affectionately.
What about the term “Old bgger”. That is potentially offensive – but then it could also be said in a gentle and friendly way to someone…
The same with calling someone g@y… or telling someone to eff off…
For example:
“You’ll never guess what just happened… John and Billy had a fight”
“Eff off!”
The response is not offensive – it is an expression of disbelief.
The context is crucial.
It would be far easier if there were just bad words and good words – but there aren’t, to suggest there are is to not fully understand language.
Meanings change over time and in different cultures. In some areas saying “eff off” is just another way of saying “sod off” – and calling someone g@y actually just means they are physically weak. There is no relevance to their sexuality whatsoever.
I won't miss him that's for sure!

I said that when I got my Ford Fiesta a few years ago.
What a pleasant banned word he seems to be.
