With the Transfer window opening in Friday and Town revealing a new kit, I wonder if a new player will be wearing the new kit???

Basically ginger y fronts, he's had formula one money and players(a bit o.t.t but you get my drift) and we've endured banger racing and lots of silly crashes that he never learns from.

"why do so many Town fans hate LC?"

Because like most clubs we have our fair share of dumbwits who wouldn't recognise a good young promising up & coming manager if they saw one.

We ended the season with a 25 league game unbeaten run, finished third with a record breaking 87 points and have a manager who negotiated his first 143 games in charge with 71 wins, 37 draws and only 35 defeats, which no other ex Town manager has equalled over the last 100 years or so and still the egg heads persist in calling for his head.

I bet the Owls would die for someone with a similar record.

We don't hate him, the vast majority of us are extremely pleased he's stopped at Huddersfield on his journey to his worthy role as a legendary premiership football manager...

Mark my words, Lee Clark will one day be known as a legend; lets hope he gets off the 1st rung of his ladder during 2011/12...

IZZY,
i recognise a young up and coming manager, gus poyet, completed a championship winning season last year..in quicker time and with less money than lee clark..

thats who he was measured against last season and he came up short..

however you try and package it, it was a failure..

We ended the season with a 25 league game unbeaten run ~ Too many draws where we didn't even try and win the match cost us.

Finished third with a record breaking 87 points ~ We finished THIRD.

And have a manager who negotiated his first 143 games in charge with 71 wins, 37 draws and only 35 defeats ~ Yet we're still in League One.

Which no other ex Town manager has equalled over the last 100 years ~ Yes, but others have got us promoted some way or another, making out Clark is the best manager we've had is ridiculous, Warnock would have had us up by Christmas.

And still the egg heads persist in calling for his head ~ Haven't seen too many people calling for his head, but I know most Town fans wouldn't be devastated if he left.

", but I know most Town fans wouldn't be devastated if he left"

I would, but only because of reasons I've already given.

1. I think he'll achieve our goals eventually, and Rome wasn't built in a day

2. I think that any new gaffer will take a year or two to get going - they usually do. Not many come in and secure promotion in season 1.

3. I genuinely can't see another realistic candidate out there that screams "opportunity" to me.

4. I think we, as a collective of fans, have perhaps been sucked in to the hype a bit too easily - all the talk of money (in my opinion exaggerated) and "championship squads" (again, unrealistic evaluations), coupled with over exuberant marketing by the club ("you buy the ticket" etc) has meant many have overlooked or undervalued progress made. It's not an awfully long time since the dark days. We'd do well to reflect on our achievements and see that we are heading in the right direction, albeit perhaps not as quickly as some would like.

Having said all of that, if a proven manager was shown to be interested and available, and a realistic prospect, I'd be willing to wish LC well and send him on his way with a wave and a smile.

38,

Poyet's will soon be 44 and had more overall experience than Clark and don't try and tell me Brighton didn't spend far more money than any other league One club last season when you take their new ground into consideration.

As for coming up short against Poyet - how many points did Poyet collect in his two encounters against Clark? - In case you've forgotten, Sweet FA.

Also lets see how good Poyet is this year - my guess is that he'll be off like s--- off a shovel the first chance he gets to jump ship.

Difference between Clark and Poyet = 1 whole division, how that occured is simple they got more points over a 46 game season, led by Poyet, than Town, or to put it another way Town did not get enough under the leadership of Clark. The why is history and had nothing to do with the faith of Izzy Mirf?. The trick is ensuring Town do not fail to get enough points this season and Izzy Mirf? is at least sticking to his principles of supporting Clark and that deserves a modicum of respect, though the name change does hint at a tiny lack of confidence.........
