There are lots of great beers, and what is best is a matter of personal taste really. Some of my favourites are: Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted, Thornbridge Jaipur, Fullers' Discovery, and The Grainstore 1050 are amongst my favourites.

Although personal preferences may vary, I'm sure that the one thing that anybody with taste can agree is that the "fake" American so-called "Budweiser" is not worthy of the name "Beer"! It's Budvar my colonial friends, and it comes from The Czech Republic!

All beer is disgusting. There is no such thing as a 'best beer.'

'whats the best beverage?' Would have been a more appropiate question.

A special mention needs to go to my all time favourite English brewer: Newby Wyke. They do so many good beers, it's hard to name one, but (I my opinion) some of their best are: Kingston Topaz, Bear Island, 2nd Refit, and Chesapeke - This one is especially great, if you can find it, as it is an English ale, brewed with eight different kinds of American hops; just incredible!

Honestly, I seriously pity people who think that cheap, fizzy, flavourless, imported, foreign "lager" is beer! England has no tradition of brewing lager; this is a foreign marketing man's import, because it is cheap, and easy to make and transport. I am Irish, but live in England now, and I despair about how little some many English people value their rich brewing heritage. Why can't you be proud of English brewing? And, if you are Arsenal fans, take Pride, and drink Fullers London Pride! Proper English beer is the best, and that comes from an Irishman!
