: “Aston Villa can confirm the club has written to the PGMOL to raise concerns over the selection process of match officials following today’s game with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

“With such high stakes surrounding today’s fixture, the club believe a more experienced referee should have been appointed. Of the 10 referees to officiate across the Premier League today, Mr. Bramall was the 2nd least experienced.

“The decision to disallow Morgan Rogers' goal, which would have given the club a 1-0 lead with 17 minutes remaining in the match, was a major contributing factor to the club not qualifying for the Champions League."

They've also stated VAR at fault also.

Pep Guardiola has admitted that the locker room has been "fractured" this season over selection issues, insisting that having 25 players to choose from has caused a rift in the dressing room

Great outcome, but I find little enjoyment watching our style of football.I hope that will change next season.

On balance I think this year has gone pretty much how it would've w/Poch outcome wise, it just would've been more fun with him - a lot more chaos matches

I don't think Guehi improves us. On the same level as Fofana and Colwill.

posted 5 days, 10 hours ago

Well, Fofana is not available 80 percent of the time.

Yeah, Guehi is decent, and almost always fit which is very valuable. But I’m not getting too excited about him.

By the way, I thought Tosin was excellent today. A very decent squad player.

Shown good temperament abd leadetship though. Fantastic for England in the WC on debut and led Palace to FA Cup. These are the qualities we need in the team

Colwill Tosin and Chalobah are all worth keeping

For the 4th CB, instead of Disasi or Bads I think we’d benefit from a leader first choice CB, assuming Fofana remains dead.

I do also wonder if Veiga will return next season. By all accounts he did well for Juve as a CB.

He's a decent player but I don't think he's a leader at the back. Don't like that he's a midget as well. We already have the shortest squad in the league.

Tosin and Chalobah are easy ffp money makers but now that we're in the CL hopefully we don't need to move them on.

TLLL who stands 5’3 with his crocs on calling a 6ft guy a midget 💔

Cunha to United.

That's a shame, great player

Chelsea’s setup [against Forest] never looked likely to create a cascade of chances but on a day when mistakes were always more likely to settle proceedings than a moment of magic, Maresca primed his team to make fewer than the opposition. It was tight and nervy, but it worked.

Sources speaking to @TheAthleticFC spoke about how Maresca stressed to the excited group in front of him that after a campaign where they had been written off for being too young and inexperienced, they had proven a point.

This had nothing to do with the age of footballers, but having the right mentality, quality and being tough.

Despite going through a difficult period, it was noted that Maresca’s mood or belief in his methods did not change behind the scenes. The club were convinced things would turn around too.

Insiders believe that Enzo Maresa was viewed as a "long term" manager for the club, someone who was still relatively young in management who could grow with a young team. The club believe he is still the right man to take the team forward and that they will move from strength to strength after showing resilience in the run in for Champions League qualification.

Combination of Cunha & Delap would suggest United know they've got a good offer for either Rashford, Garnancho or Mainoo on the table.

I'm fairly certain for which given the noises coming out the club since the Europa final, and one club are the clear frontrunners to buy them.

Liam Delap's future is expected to be decided in the coming week. It is thought Manchester United remains his top choice despite their league position and failure to secure Champions League football. Delap is thought to want to relocate further North also as a deciding factor.

Chelsea have made inquiries over Lille's goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. The 23 year old is also on Juventus's list of targets.

Chelsea have monitored the player for some time, but no decision on goalkeepers will be made until after the Club World Cup.

Strasbourg have it worse. They're the youngest squad European football's ever seen.

I was both stunned & somehow not at all surprised when I heard that
