Fast-developing Woolwich is home to the Royal Arsenal, a former arms manufacturing complex dating back to the 17th century, whose buildings now house a growing number of trendy pubs, eateries, and food shops. A farmers’ market in Artillery Square sells produce, flowers, and baked goods. Green spaces include vast Woolwich Common, while the Woolwich Ferry and a foot tunnel link the area to the north bank of the Thames.

Angelo Ogbonna headed in an 80th-minute winner to give West Ham their first victory at Elland Road in 20 years and send David Moyes' side fifth in the Premier League.

Leeds had gone in front when Mateusz Klich converted a twice-taken sixth-minute penalty.

However, the visitors - who had won just once on the previous 26 occasions when they had conceded first in a Premier League game - levelled when Illan Meslier failed to stop Tomas Soucek's soft header.

In an entertaining game where both sides created numerous chances, the Leeds keeper atoned for his error when he superbly kept out a second-half header from Fabian Balbuena.

Ogbanna rose at the far post to power home Aaron Creswell's inviting free-kick for what proved the winner.

A defamation case brought by France's football team manager Didier Deschamps against his former teammate Eric Cantona has been declared void.

The court in Paris ruled that the complaint had not clearly defined the case for defamation. Deschamps has 10 days to appeal.

Deschamps sued Cantona over comments he made ahead of Euro 2016.

He appeared to suggest Deschamps left out two players from the French squad because of their African origin.

With reference to Karim Benzema and Hatem Ben Arfa, Cantona told the Guardian newspaper at the time: "Benzema is a great player. Ben Arfa is a great player.

"But Deschamps, he has a really French name. Maybe he is the only one in France to have a truly French name," the former Manchester United striker said.

He went on to say: "Ben Arfa is maybe the best player in France today. But they have some origins. I am allowed to think about that."

Deschamps' lawyer at the time called the remarks "unacceptable, slanderous and defamatory".

Benzema was not selected to play in the European Championship after he was issued with a domestic ban for his involvement in an alleged blackmail scandal over a s ex tape. Ben Arfa stayed on the standby list.

Cantona's lawyer welcomed Friday's court ruling, claiming it a "victory", and saying "justice had been done".

In Pokémon Red and Blue, the player learns of Mewtwo's existence by reading research notes left in the ruined Pokémon Mansion on Cinnabar Island. The notes say that the island's scientists discovered a new Pokémon in a Guyana jungle, that they named it Mew, and that it later gave birth to a creature they called Mewtwo; the game's Pokédex entry states that Mewtwo was "created by a scientist after years of horrific gene splicing and DNA engineering experiments".

The Buy Now, Pay Later company Klarna plans to report missed and failed payments to credit reference agencies.

Klarna gives customers different ways to pay for items online such as within 30 days or over three instalments.

The company doesn't currently report customers who miss payments.

"What we are looking at in terms of to protect consumers is to work with the credit reference agencies to enable reporting in the future," Klarna's Alex Marsh, told Radio 4's Money Box.

Mr Marsh, Klarna's UK lead, said while the company only accepts customers which it believes can pay on time, it freezes or closes down the accounts of those who end up missing too many payments or make none at all.

"We work with debt collection agencies to support customers on payment plans. They [debt collectors] do not have the ability to report back into the credit reference agencies," Mr Marsh said.

Bush v. Gore, 531 U.S. 98 (2000), was a decision of the United States Supreme Court on December 12, 2000, that settled a recount dispute in Florida's 2000 presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore.

posted on 12/12/20

The Supreme Court decision allowed the previous vote certification made by Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris to stand for George W. Bush, who thereby won Florida's 25 electoral votes. Florida's votes gave Bush, the Republican candidate, 271 electoral votes, one more than the 270 required to win the Electoral College. This meant the defeat of Democratic candidate Al Gore, who won 267 electoral votes (but actually received only 266, as a "faithless elector" from the District of Columbia abstained from voting).

A colony of one of the country's rarest seabirds has had its most successful season for more than 25 years, the National Trust has said.

Nesting pairs of little terns fledged more than 200 chicks at Blakeney Point, off the north Norfolk coast.

The bird has been in serious decline nationally since the 1980s, with fewer than 2,000 pairs now left in the UK.

Rangers counted 154 pairs of little terns nesting over the summer months and 201 chicks - the most since 1994.

The National Trust, which manages Blakeney Point, believes the success was in part due to fewer people visiting the site at the beginning of the breeding season, during the first national lockdown.

The little terns nested at the far end of The Point, which is further away from the mainland, with fewer visitors walking that far along.
