At the end of the day every government, when dealing with other countries has some agenda they would prefer their population to not know about, that is how the world works and how we as a species are.

So to every time the USA does something call it some kind of conspiracy is hypocritical. We do it on an individual level every day, self preservation.

The USA isn't 'evil', a 'bad country ran by bad people', it's trying to protect it's own interests.

By that I mean that during the 50's, armies were still predominantly infantry based and moving these masses of troops around by sea or air was very difficult (imagine D-Day against China, that would be chaotic).

In the modern era, though, land based troops aren't as numerous and can be transported in a number of different ways.

Not to mention planes, ships and long-range ballistic missiles that are much more advanced 60 years on.

It takes a large amount of naivety to actually believe that. The threats from North Korea are like their radios, they don't turn off.

The only reason they're newsworthy again is because we now think they have the capability to use nuclear projectiles.

If they didn't have that ability, no one would care and the US wouldn't be moving anti-missile systems to Guam.

if NK want nukes to defend themselves then great for them. USA would be hypocrites to stop them.

i seriously don't think that north korea will push the red button and nuke the south as soon as they get a nuke. they are not dangerous in that sense.

north korea would be destroyed if this happened and self preservation will prevent that.

Nuclear projectiles to attack who? If North Korea seriously wanted to attack the South they would have done using whatever resources they had. They haven't attacked or invaded South Korea despite their periodic gesturing now why do you think that is so? And think why has this gone on to the level the current situation is at?

How stupid do you think the North Korean government is? They wouldn't have attacked when they were militarily outmatched which is why they've spent all of their GDP on improving their military technology.

They are attempting to become powerful enough to ward off any attacks from the US and their hesitance to wage an all out war in the past does not mean that they do not want to unify the Korean peninsula under their rule.

give it a rest mate. as someone eluded to earlier, people there worship their leader and they have an army of near 10 million people.

USA are only getting involved because they dont want them to have nukes, same with iran. always an agenda. if USA dump their nukes along with all other powerful nations then there would be no need for any of this.

this war if it comes is pretty straight forward: the us wants to protect it's ally and business partner south korea. If North Korea was continuing like it has for the last 50 years the USA would do nothing but because they are getting serious now the USA is getting more involved. That's exactly why North Korea isn't going to attack. Deep down amidst all of the brashness of their leaders they know they do not want an engagement with the US. I'm just saying the reaction from the White house was not appropriate and has unnecessarily escalated the situation.

And when it comes to technical things you'd be amazed at the effects an embargo can achieve especially if there is no original research coming from that country/region.

Suso you have to understand that there are people in key roles who are too eager to go to war even when the of us have no desire to. But once a war starts then the rest of the country get dragged in whether you were for or against it before it began.
