Shaw is the next Cafu
----------------------------------------------------------------------
more like the next cole
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or Le Saux
This would be a great deal. I know £30m for a 18 year old sounds over the top. But its an investment over a long period of time hopefully and its a gamble we have to take. Ideally he could have a career like Rio and then the money would pay for itself.
Alaba is much better left back, and he probably will cost 20-25mill, not that anyone has a chance of buying him.
He reminds me of Jordi Alba actually, only stronger and even quicker.
What a fúcking waste of money. 30m on an 18 year old LB?
Complete joke
I don't understand why we're suddenly not interested in Coentrao, at half the price

Coentrao isn't the next Cafu
Can we not go to France and buy someone? Anyone?
We do not have to be mugs about this player. We have managed to create a demand for a player and outbid ourselves for him. There is a stench of desperation in our business for the past one year.

Why France?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly.Why not........Iran?
Shaw is a very good signing. he is already one of the most solid LBs in PL. His positioning excellent and defensive part of his game is already fully developed.
shaw is also fast, has a great engine. can get involved in attacks. rarely gives away free kicks and always tracks back
Saints rarely concede from the left and Shaw is the main reasons for it. His overall game will improve within next 2 or 3 seasons. He'd be the best LB at united even now and we could easily get another 10 seasons out of him.

how can you buy players without a manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hazard moved to Chelsea ... most of Citys business last year was done before Pellegrini was confirmed i think... it happens
----------------------------------------------------------------------
City have the set up to do it. That's how thy operate anyway
We don't
The new manager should decide the players he needs to fit in with the way he wants to play

Id imagine SAF, sir bobby etc has recognized Shaw as a great, home grown prospect, so they'd want to secure him early before other competitors come in
We should convert him into a LM ala Bale

No
Sir Alex and Sir Bobby will not be managing him. The new manager may have know a better prospect at a 10th of the cost
The New manager should get the whole transfer budget, not just some of it because some has already been spent by someone who won;t be managing the players
City have people in place specifically to do the roll of bringing in players already
We do not
Not a penny should be spent on players unless the new manager wants them
See Zaha
coentrao is far from crap, marcello just happens to be exceptional at left back.
Shaw has shown all the right attributes to be a top LB. Any new manager would be able to use him the way they like and it wouldn't hinder any change in tactics.
Why are we on here arguing over money?
If Chelsea got him and he turned out like cole people would moan that we didn't do enough to get him
