I reckon Bowen was last weeks news. Probably his agent trying to get a new deal from West Ham. Despite this we are not left with many options of who we can buy regardless.

I'm still baffled why we seemingly had no interest at all in Daka.

posted on 27/7/21

I think there was interests, but, somewhat like Werner last season, I think he wanted assurances over game time which the club obviously couldn't offer whereas Leicester would.

Lester have Vardy, Kelechi, Barnes, Madison and Perez as forward options so I very much doubt Brendan said you will start.

Lester had the money at the time and we did not. It is as simple as that.

I wouldn't quite say it's as simple as that personally, especially when Vardy is now going into his mid-30's and Daka is a better out and out striker than any of those named other than Vardy.

He been playing in some Austrian sheep league where there is only 1 good team who he plays for. Not sure how you can say he is better than the rest of the Leicester forwards based on that.

posted on 27/7/21

Because a players ability is not solely based on the club that he plays for maybe.

Imagine if you applied that theory to Haaland as well.

posted on 27/7/21

Haaland you could tell was going to be a star. He was also scoring the CL and at a rate not seen in the sheep league. For every Haaland there is a Minamino and Hwang who struggled when leaving Austria.

posted on 27/7/21

Yeah you could tell he was being a star by watching him play, but you said how can you say Daka is better based off the fact he plays for the only good team in a farmers league, which is different to actually watching him. You just judged him off where he played.

I can tell by watching him in respect to the rest of Leicester's forwards and he is only behind Vardy as Leicester's best out-and-out forward and Vardy is at the back end of his career. You even named players like Barnes and Maddison who will virtually never play as an out-and-out striker.

I did say forward options and who knows Brendan might put Daka out wide like he did with Firmino?

Bottom line is if we wanted Daka he would never have gone to Leicester but Leicester stole the march because we still had bills to pay.

I'll put decent money on Iheanacho outscoring Daka this season.

Pretty sure you had massive concerns about the AFCON. I assume that's not longer the case and we're back to making things up about money??

Genuinely, is it so hard to just tell the truth sometimes?

It's not a one off competition

He might put Daka out wide, but I'm not going to predict what he is thinking because I don't know, I can only go off what I have seen and what my opinion is and that is that he would be Leicester's best out-and-out striker other than Vardy. Irrelevant to which league he has played in and where he has come from.

Iheanacho might outscore Daka this season (dependant on how many games each other play obviously) but I have never seen him as a true number 9. I think he prefers to play off somebody rather than being the focal point in a team.

Bit of research shows another in 2023.

That would make him a 10 surely.

posted on 27/7/21

I say "play off", more accurately would be saying play with another CF rather than being a focal point in the team. Poor wording on my part.

Probably like a 9.5 if you were to ask me. Half a 10, half a 9.

If we are still relying on Mane in 2023 as our first choice then I would be very worried. Keita will be gone and Mo still has to agree this new contract which I don't think he will like based on previous.

We still have room in the squad for more African players.
