Wonder what at what point Rafa will start to he accepted by blues. Reckon it'll take a whole season.

I think he’ll get accepted fairly quickly if they keep this kind of form up. Trouble is, they’ll probably turn on him just as fast as soon as they hit a poor spell!

If you describe an action as ‘reasonable’ it means you think it’s the right action
------
If Richarlison had been seriously injured and a red card produced it would have been a reasonable decision in my book. There's no right or wrong in some situations, its just opinion. You're being too strict.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s exactly my original point to which you said you didn’t mean it like that and now you’ve just said it?? To my knowledge there is nothing that says that the punishment depends on the severity of the injury. It’s the challenge that’s punished, not the result.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say I didn't mean it like that. I said that what you said isn't what I said, there's a difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good grief, I’m leaving it here. All I’ll say is that maybe you need to look up how to use the term ‘reasonable’.

Watching Everton game and Richarlison was down in the first minute and needed the physios on the pitch after a very similar tackle to Elliot's. Burnley player booked and if Richarlison had been seriously injured it could have reasonably been red.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where’s everyone getting this getting sent off depending on the severity of the injury from? I’ve not heard it mentioned til yesterday and now it seems to be a rule. Or is it just been made up on here?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure what your point is but I've just checked the rules and refs are actually obligated to take into account the severity of a foul when dishing out punishment. So if Richarlison had been seriously injured then a red card would have been reasonable IMO, as I said. It'd have been a foul that led to serious injury, in which scenario the ref is free to send off a player if they interpret the tackle like that.
I'm surprised you've never heard of that fact until yesterday. Its not made up on here. It comes from the rules.
That should settle that.

You’ve only just checked the rules yourself, and being smug after the fact. Even with what you posted it says nothing about the severity of the injury dictating the punishment, so you’ve proved nothing.
I only had to check because you made me doubt myself. I didn't expect you to be so uninformed and thought it would be prudent to confirm.
After checking the rules, it turns out I was aware of the rules from the start and you weren't. I didn't need to prove anything after all.
As for the severity of the injury dictating the punishment, please use google to check the rules and you'll see that severity is actually central to a refs decision on what punishment to dish out.

I’d appreciate it if you could quote the rule that says the severity of the injury influences the punishment. I’ve looked but can’t see it mentioned anywhere, and you’re just saying it’s there without providing a link or actual quote.
Just read through the ref’s rules on the FA website and can’t see anything about severity of injury anywhere. Judging by your levels of smugness i’m thinking I must have missed it, as you seem very certain it’s in there. Bedtime for me, so I’ll check in tomorrow ready to acknowledge that you’re right when you provide the links you’ve clearly read 👍
lol
How did you read all the rules so fast? And how can you still not see severity is a factor established in the rules?
For instance
Players are cautioned and shown a yellow card if they commit the following offences:
Dissent by word or action
Persistent infringement of the Laws of the Game
Delaying the restart of play
Failure to respect the required distance when play is restarted with a corner kick, throw-in or free kick
Entering or re-entering the field of play without the referee's permission
Deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee's permission
Unsporting behaviour (a broad category of caution-worthy acts, see below)
There are also two offences which apply in matches using the Video Assistant Referee system:
Entering the referee review area
Excessively using the 'review' (TV screen) signal
Law 12 of the Laws of the Game lists the categories of misconduct for which a player may be sent off. These are:
denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity with a handball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within their penalty area)
denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity with a foul (unless the referee awards a penalty and it was an attempt to play the ball)
serious foul play
violent conduct
using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or action(s)
receiving a second caution in the same match
In matches using the Video Assistant Referee system, the list also includes:
entering the video operation room (VOR)[4]:105
Serious foul play is a foul committed using excessive force (i.e., "the player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent".[1]:117 Violent conduct is distinct from serious foul play in that it may be committed by any player, substitute, or substituted player against any person, e.g., teammates, match officials, or spectators.[
Its also pretty obvious that the fact that we have no card, yellow card and red cards dictates that severity of a foul is a factor. Some fouls get no card, worse fouls get a yellow card and really bad ones get a red card.
Undeniably determined by severity. In the rules, fouls and bad conduct are categorised by severity too. Severity is central to ref decisions.
Did you read the rules expecting to see a verbatim statement on refs considering severity?
See you when you see me.
Severity of the foul yes, not severity of the injury. They are completely and utterly different things.
You’ve just gotten yourself mixed up over the interpretation of words, no big deal
