(🟢) NEW:

Liverpool not looking to sell Luis Diaz despite Saudi speculation.

Liverpool are understood to be perplexed by the noise once again surrounding Díaz.

[@_pauljoyce]

Good news I think, must be his dad stirring again.

Reijnders is a really good signing for City, he stands out whenever I've seen a game he's playing in.

Him and Rodri is a formidable midfield, should do a lot of the legwork allowing Cherki to shine
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They will be scary if they don't get heavily punished from the 115
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Will they?

I appreciate they may resolve some of these issues as the transfer window goes on but as it stands they don't really have a RB (Nunes/Lewis appear to be preferred), their GK seems to be either waning or slightly out of favour with Pep (rumours of him leaving), their biggest player returning from a whole season out, Foden who is likely to be their primary playmaker (with KdB gone and Bernardo waning) coming off the back of a horrible season. In wide areas Doku looks below standard, Savinho inconsistent and Grealish completely out of favour. Assume Marmoush will be pushed wide.

They also have the club world cup which is fantastic for the finances (not that City need the boost) but means the squad get no break.

That doesn't sound scary to me. I think a lot is being pinned on Rodri coming back and being the same player. I'm sure he'll get there but remember when VVD came back after the knee injury, it took him time to hit the same heights again.

I have no doubt that they'll be better than last year but unless they have an outstanding window, I'd put them 3rd favourites.

I'd back City to finish ahead of Arsenal, who I think will have a down year this year. Last season was such a disappointment for them both in the cups and the league, Zubimendi backing out of a move to them would be the icing on the cake.

Think it'll be us and City at the top unless Chelsea sort themselves out.

Not sure they or Newcastle will be ready this year.

City have knicked an analyst from us, James French. Been at the club since 2012, focussed on set-pieces and analysis

Interesting considering we just knicked one of their data dudes, bit of swapsies going on

[🟢] NEW: Florian Wirtz is nearing a move to Premier League champions Liverpool.

Any agreement for Wirtz could break the British record.

[🟢] BREAKING: Sources in Germany say a deal to sign Wirtz is '99 per cent done' in an incentivised package that would smash Liverpool's transfer record.

Wirtz is extremely keen on a move to Anfield and this is now a matter of "when' not if.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I really liked the look of Dibling from what I saw last season. Not right for us because he needs game time and he wouldn't get that with us, but wouldn't surprise me to see him do well for Spurs. And then the Twatteratti (or the X equivalent) will then moan that we should have brought him when we had the chance....

If that is true, we probably need to just sell him rather than lose yet another player to them on a free.

We should look at Semenyo. Similar stats to Diaz. Linked to Arsenal today. Home grown too and no AFCON in winter.

If we’re replacing Diaz, I think we need a player with a higher ceiling than Semenyo. Doubt he’s going to improve much from where he is now, and he’s not significantly, if at all, better than Diaz.
