Apparently Ekitike would be 60mil
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ridiculous valuation IMO. No more than 40m max IMO.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I should caveat this by saying I've never seen Ekitike play, only highlights which can make anyone look good.
However, he's a 22 year old forward, with a perceived high bar, and has scored at just below a goal every other game in their first full season in the Bundesliga. I think the days of being able to buy that profile for £40m are gone (unless a clause).
Brighton paid £30m for Pedro who had looked pretty out of his depth in the EPL and then scored 11 in the Championship. But he was thought to have potential.
I'm sure Frankfurt will get someone to pay £60m.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Prem players tend to cost more money. If Pedro was in Germany and being traded between German clubs then the transfers would carry less value IMO.
We've paid 71m for Nunez so far, if reports are to be believed and he had a higher profile coming in than Ekitike does right now IMO.

i listened to micah talking about him asking thierry about him, and it was along the lines of, hes frustrating atm. He can look amazing then fail the basics a moment later. Thierry said hes got a very high ceiling but its touch and go basically on him being able to reach it, hard to predict if he will or not.
Im the same watched some highlights and seen stats and came to the same conclusion myself before hearing that. Its a gamble, even at 50/60m euros let alone the 100m they wanted from the start. Can see why plenty of clubs are looking though.

Yep, Nunez had a higher profile. He was also more than is reportedly wanted for Ekitike so not sure what the point is there.
And I'm sure Pedro would have cost less between 2 german clubs but we play in the PL and the price will always be inflated for us.
Hojlund had done less than Ekitike, £70m. Leeds paid £40m for Rutter, who had done very little, from Hoffenheim as a Championship club. WHammers paid £45m for Haller from Frankfurt, lower profile than Ekitike.
£40m for potential like Ekitike isn't realistic these days imo unless the player has a contractual clause or is running down their contract. And that's before you factor in there are so few strikers available right now and so many clubs looking,

Agreed, but you can't make the correlation that Pedro costing 30m between English clubs should provide a barometer for what Ekitike should cost.
Ekitike has had one really good season. Can't be paying 60/70m for those IMO.
