But we aren't rushing Isak
It's only Wirtz, where Slot has decided that he should be the main fulcrum to all our attacking patterns and it hasn't necessarily worked as yet

I rather do it before Hoody and Term get back here but I would love to know who's all these players that Klopp used to 'ease in'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ll start.
Fabinho
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Robertson
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that's it though isn't it? Neither Fab or Robbo because regulars until around December. Possibly Wij as well, he took some time to establish I think.
On the other side of the ledger, Klopp put Ali, VVD, Szobo, AMA, Mane, Salah - all straight in.
I think the Klopp easing in is over-stated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont think its overstated, but even if it was that's got nothing to with do with my point though because my point was that Klopp used to do it with some players, which is what I said, and has been demonstrated. Also we can't remember instantly all the players he eased in, some for weeks others for months. Pretty sure it's something he did depending on the player and the needs of the team.
Salah, VVD, Mane and especially Szobo and AMA had to be played straight away as we were badly lacking when we signed those players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok. My comment wasn't aimed at you. I hadn't even registered that you'd posted on the subject, was more responding to ME.
I was just making a general point; there seems to be this view that Klopp eased players in, I think it's probably over-stated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get ya. Its hard to prove or disprove conclusively. Personally I don't feel it's overstated as I feel he did it more than most other managers.

With Ekitike performing and scoring every game and Isak looking slow and sluggish, should have stuck with that mostly IMO.
It’s kind of all gone downhill a bit since Ekitike got sent off. That meant playing Isak earlier than we would’ve liked too, plus we missed the actual in form forward vs Palace.

I would say the argument is that, more often than not, Klopp made the right decision and I can’t remember too many players being thrown in and struggling as a result. The ones who needed time got time and the ones that didn’t were thrown straight in.
I don’t remember too many Klopp signings looking so lost in the team as we are seeing with some of Slot’s now.
We had plenty of spells under Klopp that were just as bad as this, if not worse.
I mean there are mitigating circumstances for them, but there are now.
Not quite sure why Klopp is in the conversation anyway.

Undefeated in the league though
For me something simple that Slot could do which would probably improve us straight away is going back to the below team:
Ali
Frimpong Konate VVD Kerkez
Grav/Mac Szobo
Salah Wirtz Gakpo
Isak/Hugo
That team started opening day v Bournemouth where we were pretty good for 70 minutes, and also played v Atletico which was probably our best 60 minutes all season.
We need to stick with Wirtz because he does create chances, and I think Szobo deeper massively helps energy wise in the midfield.
And get Salah more involved

Klopp was the master at bedding in players IMO.
I think Slot has a lot of credit in the bank, but definitely needs to put round pegs in round holes in this moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Either revert to the tried and tested methods or come up with tweaks to make Isak, Wirtz and the team more effective.
Challenges will always come, will be interesting to see what he does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We shall see, hopefully he does just that.
Our best game this season was against Atletico with Frimpong playing rb and this gave Mo the license to play in that half space. We were more dynamic and threatening on the counter in that game. Grav and Szobo were the double pivot which has a better balance in and out of possession.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah Frimpong had a bad bad game against Southampton (attitude was not there tbh) and has been punished since.
Our forward press is fooked IMO.
Say what you want about Darwin, but he did press for the most part freeing up space for others.
Jota amongst his injury probs, he pressed superbly.
And Diaz of course is an Elite presser.
Gakpo would struggle to press a stamp, but has goals in him...
Isak has looked better than people have give him credit for... In the last 3 games, he's had 1 goal and 1 assist.
Entike looks ok, but Writz is still adapting.
You know I completely forgot Isak scored
I'd be happy with Frimpong coming back in, Bradley not claiming the spot unfortunately. Feels like Slot is keeping Kerkez back given we're conceding so many early this season except now we're overwhelmed in midfield and toothless up front. We got back into the game against Palace and Chelsea even if they weren't the best performances - hold on for a point and no doubt the mood will be warmer than it is now and prob fewer questioning Slot but alas, that's footy
it is kinda funny that we nabbed all those late winners and now its happened to us
I know it’s mad football isnt it. 2 very late goals in stoppage time against us and an extremely dodgy penalty, change that and we are sitting top and had a very good start to the season. But obviously performances haven’t been good and it had been coming.
