I will say it again and perhaps it will hit home to some.

Rangers and subsequently Sports Direct exposure does not have to be bigger and better than Newcastle's in order to make it a profitable thing for Mikr Ashley to do

If a small company has two avenues of advertising open to it

One cost £1000 to reach an audience of 50,000
The other costs £100 to reach an audience of 10,000

Which one is more cost effective??
Why not do both if they could afford it??

Again, spanish cvnts buying white socks and Rangers tops is the pi$h poor argument that has fck all relevance

Why would Ashley turn his nose up at fcking cheap advertising, so cheap in fact he's actually making money while getting it, not paying for it!!!

"AND THAT IS WHY THEY WANT RID OF HIM FOR FOOK SAKE, HE IS CREAMING MONEY AND THEY CANNO0T COMPETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

and again I say, we aint fcking Newcastle, we aint in the Premier League.

Ashley puts enough into Newcastle to keep them in the Premier League as thts what makes him the most money.

He is not winding Newcastle up and runnig away with St James.

The same applies to Rangers

Winding us up and fcking off isnt in his best interests.

If keeping Rangers at the top of the SPL and getting European Footbal is the level we can operate at to maximise Ashley's potential cut, that is where we will fcking operate at.

If the club is successful, the stadium will be full and the tills will be ringing in the club shop, prize money will come in, and if we get into Eruope, bonaza.

If the club is a mediocre shell of itself in languishing mid table in the top tier, the stadium will be empty, merch sales will fall, there will be no chance of a European windfall and Ashely's potential take will be a pittance!!

He runs Rangers Retail

He doesnt have the crest or trademark in his personal possession, the club does.

The stadium and training ground will only go if the loan is defaulted on.

Am I wary, absolutely, but its early days, very very early days

"And you are happy for him to be in that position "

No, I dont want the stadium and training ground to be used for security.

He hasnt done this at Newcastle, so there is no need to at Rangers

That would worry me greatly, but even now, they havent even been used for security yet.

Both those things would only be lost if the loan was not repaid and that is something thats a long long way away.

Its very very very early days, the SFA blocking him takng equity is possibly what has forced this route to be taken.

I dont like it, but I say again, it does not mean he wont look to get Rangers up and improve the club, yes, he will do that for his own ends, but it will help us in the process.

are you honestly telling me if celtic only made 7% from shirt sales that you would be happy?

sick of this snide patronising tone that we should be grateful for what we get

The figures I seen were that there was a £7.8m turnover from merchandising, at a cost of £4.8m.

So there was £3m profit, and Ashley has basically taken the lot of that, the club has got next to fck all.

That is not great for the club at all given our current circumstacnes, I fully accept that.

But at the end of the day, he has taken £3m from a business turning over £25m...this notion that this is a massive massive chunk of the clubs money is just nonsense

Celtic's merch turnover the past couple of years has been in the region of £13-15m, double that of ours.

Thats where ours was before the days of the JJB deal, in fact it was higher than that, and under that agreement we got a minimum of £5m from JJB.

So from that point of view, the scope for Ashley to turn a yearly profit of £3m into something closer to £5-6m

People dispute this isnt a viable option for Ashley.

Those same people also seem to put forward the viewpoint that £5-6m in being taken from a club with the capacity to make in excess of £50m a season if it is playing in the Scottish top tier and in Europe, is somehow going to be utterly debilitating.

I dont know the figures, but I'd love to know how much interest we gathered and how much we spent annaully servicing loans under Murray when our turnover was at these kind of levels
