Can't have to much pressure on him moving to 3....not like he'd have much to compare against of late.

Lets not get carried away with steve smith.. hes failed a lot againt England aswell as scored runs.. Hes still got plenty of technical issues.. England still have good bowlers.

Disgraceful performance, shockingly bad all round

Australia win by 405 runs. Great play by them, shocking from England.

Seriously - the aussies must have been half drunk in Cardiff to lose by 200+ runs a week ago. They definately haven't "improved" this much int he space of a week

Australia declared twice, had 10 wickets unused, and still won by 405 runs... Worry signs for England

I have said it before and said it again. this series will come down to Australian bowling against Englands batting..
If England wanna regain the ashes. they got score more runs. plain and simple. Under pressure Australia still have collapses in them...

1-1.. 3 to go. the 3rd test will be the decider.. either team wins they will win the series in my opinion.

Whoever wins the toss you mean...

so bairstow has scored more runs than the entire england team today.

they do say that timing is everything, and talk about a good time to score another century.

Frankly England were lucky to recover from 30-3 to win the first test - 9 times out of 10 you don't win test matches from 30-3 (or similar)

Play form players you mean....hmm...radical

sheriff, you still gotta score runs..England need to bat first that's for sure 350 is a must.. if we don't get that or 200...they deserve to lose the series.. you cant get 400 runs in total in a test match over 2 innings and expect to get a win.

Bairstow is rated by the selectors, in fairness... think we'll definitely see at least one change.

Bell HAS to go, he simply has to.

boycott saying that the selectors will probably sit in a darkened room, go over this fiasco for a day or two, and then pick exactly the same team again...

wonder if the next test being at edgbaston will save bell?

England have huge concerns.

Lyth been exposed
Ballance technique looks poor for a no 3
Bell has lost it
Buttler been poor
Moeen weak link in the bowling.

Who's out there in county scene? May need to look at Bairstow and James Taylor again along with Rashid.

Lucky Ryan Harris is out

They were lucky that root got a life on 0 - from there the bowlers bailed them out as usual.

Unfortunately ths wasn't England's worst performance by any means
