Proud to say I have never seen an episode or a movie of Star Trek in my life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
your missing out then IMO chief .

Original series wont come across well.
The next generation is ok following an old format of new advernture every week and again hastn aged as well as I remember.
Deep Space Nine is excellent has a great overall story and very good characters
Voyager has a very good story and characters.
Enterprise : i didnt enjoy and didnt bother with
Discovery: watched the first 2 season but drifted away from it.

Films:
1. Star Trek : good film
2. Wrath of Khan: One of the best sci films there is , superb film
3. Search for Spok : decent story, excellent writing , very good.
4. Voyage Home : Many have this as their fave as it spends a lot of time on 90's earth it was good but not my fave.
5. Final Frontier: meh average film
6. Undiscovered country : excellent film, very well written and pretty tense, great film.
7 . Generations : good but not as good as I expected.
8. First Contact: Amazing film, highly highly recommended. Easily my favourite Star Trek film
9. Insurrection: average, decent film easy to watch.
10. Nemesis: good film, well acted

Of the new ones
Star Trek - much better than I expected and was pretty good.
Into Darkness : dissapointed it was a remake as I didnt expect it, but still excellent, Cumberbatch is brilliant in it. (Its a remake of Wrath of Khan)
Beyond : forgettable, average at best

As a franchise its excellent.

Out of curiosity why have never even tried any of them?

First contact is a 9.5/10 ....... and if you knbow my ratings thats as good as your gonna get.

The Borg are easily on of the best baddies ever put on screen

I've never watched any Star Trek either.

But weirdly I don't think I'm really a sci-fi fan. SW is the massive exception to that obviously but outside of SW, I can't really think of a sci-fi film or show that I've really loved.

Probably to do with how poor the early stuff looked to me, in comparison to Star Wars that is. Have never heard of any of the new stuff you posted though i don't do social media really outside of JA and Facebook so never exposed to much.

Actually I take that back. Aliens is a great film. And when I was a kid I used to like Quantum Leap.

But those aside, I'm a bit meh on sci-fi

2. Wrath of Khan: One of the best sci films there is , superb film - 1982 but well ahead of its time IMO. a fantastic story

8. First Contact: Amazing film, highly highly recommended. Easily my favourite Star Trek film 1996 and easily one of my favourite sci films of all time -

Of the "older films" these two are must watches
Of the new ones you will enjoy :

Star Trek - much better than I expected and was pretty good.
Into Darkness : dissapointed it was a remake as I didnt expect it, but still excellent, Cumberbatch is brilliant in it. (Its a remake of Wrath of Khan)

The rest are good but not essential viewing and for the older ones (mainly first contact) a little background knowledge is beneficial but not essential.

In terms of depth of quality when you consider the newer films for both franchises for me Star Trek has greater depth to them and consistency in terms of quality.

In terms of tv Deep Space Nine and Voyager are both excellent overall and if you have time (and you need a lot of it) give them a bash ..... both take a cpl seasons to establish everything properly then they take off and become excellent. When I was done watching them I was gutted, I wanted them to keep going didnt want them to end (they have proper endings)

I do still prefer SW however.

If thats the case stick to First Contact and Into Darkness.

First Contact is the bad boy however , the borg (basically space robot zombies) are amazing bad guys. bloody terrifying!! A lot of that is set on earth slightly in the future from now also. Its more of an action than a out and out sci film however

Will add I really dislike comic book character movies for the most part and have mostly avoided them. Did watch a couple of the early batman ones. Spiderman once. May have watched some of Wolverine.

My most hated movie of all time by a distance and one i switched off after about 45 minutes was the feckin Matrix, absolute steaming pile of shat!!!

If this was the quiz question to win a Million bucks, you wouldn’t see Cinci hesitate. Call a friend? Hell no.
Cinci would start reeling off details like a human Wikipedia!!

‘And did you know, Batman and Superman’s mother’s have the same name....’
as Cinci is holding the big check under the newspaper headline, DC/Marvel super nerd wins big!

And going back to this. Batman has a mum? How did he become Bat or isn't he Bat at all? I know Spiderman got bit by a spider. Wolverine? Feck knows, just didn't cut his nails I guess.

We don’t recognise this, Marvel you speak of.
This is the house of LucasFilm.

Bloody hell man!

Batman - DC - movie rights owned by WarnerBros

Spider-Man - Marvel - movie rights owned by Sony
Disney have an agreement in place with Sony to use SpiderMan in the MCU,

Wolverine- Marvel - movie rights owned by Disney, previously owned by 20th Century Fox.
