May is vile. Although I guess she's more openly evil than a lot of Tory MPs so that's a slight bonus.

if the vote had been won on good policy, with a clear idea of what to do next to steer the country in a better direction there wouldn't be so much anger.
However the vote was won because the voting majority public are gullible, not too bright, occasionally racist and in the end have given power to the people who are ruining their lives.
People who actually bothered to do their homework re the election rather than being spoon fed lies by the Sun, Farage and Johnson are right to be angry, their lives are going to get a lot worse too.

What that article seems to forget is that the left that they are talking about were mainly against the EU too, as Benn was and why Corbyn wasn't particularly vocal in his support.
It's more the centre (and centre left) that usually make up the silent majority. It's the first time that most have spoken as they didn't realise until too late that leave would actually win.
I'd be interested to see out of the people that voted in the EU referendum but don't normally, which way they voted...
After Merkels idea to tell the whole of Syria to come to Europe, she's now admitting that terrorists are being smuggled in pretending as refugees.
Imagine being one of those EU members that had refugee quotas forced upon them.

Thank you for pretty much proving this article right in your response. A vile response doing little more than insulting the British public.
The elite do very well out of Europe and it protects their tax avoidance schemes, of course they will want to stay. Yet the average British person who sees the rich getting richer with little to show for it themselves are the gullible ones. Maybe you should learn to understand why people really voted to leave rather than believe the sensationalist accusations being reported by a lot of the media to make a story out of it.
The Elite were on both sides of the debate and the common UK citizen was also on both sides. It seems a little disingenuous to claim that this is the will of the people trumping the so-called Elite.
Not only that but every time you appear on this article you post deliberately antagonistic views and/or links. You are no better than the people being shamed in that article.
And that article is a load of crap.

Yes that is true. I got fed up with the insults being thrown about on this artticle and decided I should redress the balance a bit. Its called human nature. You think you can have everything your own way and as the result of the refurendum prioved, you cant and now it has happened there is little more than abuse, regurgitating the same few points, ignoring to respond to points raised by people of other views and repeated name calling.
Most people I know that voted to leave did it due to immigration, that was their key motivator. There were a few radical left wingers that also wanted to leave, but it was mainly that.
Now we could have an intellectual debate about why that is - a loss of collective cultural identity, collective ignorance perpetuated by a right wing media, inability to separate politicians from anybody else in a position of authority, but ultimately that would be diagnosing the root cause, whereas most people seem to focus on the symptom, which was the ills of the EU - despite the fact that non-EU migration has always been higher and the vast majority of people benefit from the EU.
Ignorance (which can come in the form of racism) is a big factor whichever way you look at it. The problem is that that won't ever be faced into either.

All those countries that I can't just go and live in must be racist I suppose. US, Australia, Canada, Japan, etc.
I thought many wanted out to stop sending money to the EU...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which would be the ones that fall under ignorance rather than racism.
The areas that had the highest percentage leave voters correlated directly to the areas that also received the most money from the EU, so I'm not sure they got their logic right there if they did...
The US and Japan are pretty damn racist, to be fair. Australia isn't great either.

An intellectual debate here seems to consist of remainers telling us how stupid we are, and a regurgitation of the same old 'facts' that no one could possibly know are true, because it hasn't happened yet.
Some of you think you're being intelligent, but the truth is you're just being condescending and smug.
The howls of anguish appear far bigger from the wealthy Liberal Left than the Socialist Left.
The spite and anger towards older and poorer people for daring to not vote the same way they did was quite disgusting in my opinion.

I'm not sure I follow you, the facts are purely about the current (or previous) situation, otherwise they aren't facts.
I'm not sure what is condescending about trying to give more underlying root causes either to be honest.

What do you mean 'any more'? There has always been a mix. It would be missing out on good money to completely ignore one side of the political spectrum.
The right wing red tops are simply the most prominent because they cater to the lowest common denominator?
