To be fair to the OP, watching united at the moment there appears to be very little improvement, especially in style of play.
It's funny because you have these flashes of play that are very good, quick and incisive but they happen very rarely in the past few months, too often your players stop, slow it up and allow the opposition to get back into shape.
Jose's home record is shocking too, 30% win ration, can get a max of 50% if you win all your home games, that is dreadful.
But sacking a manager every 12 months will only do more long term damage, Chelsea have gotten away with it by hurling cash at it but is that what you want to see happen at united?
Wow, someone is wound up

This is a question which people seem not to dare answer truthfully. In terms of solidity, maybe ... just maybe. But let's not hide the fact that without Ibra's goals, United would be a long way behind. Boring, ineffective tactics, criticising players, square pegs for - well numerous round holes. I am starting to think that Jose is becoming outdated.
Come to think of it there is a bit of Myra Hindley resemblance with Jose.

Busby, most of us on here have been underwhelmed by Jose. I've been very critical of him this season and it has been a very average season but there's literally no point sacking the guy off.
If we keep doing that every time we don't qualify for the CL it'll make us a circus and it won't attract any half decent manager either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree, but the point is we have the perfect platform in that we shouldn't be finishing out of the Top 4, ever. The competition isn't great and we're signing world class stars.
In the end the only person accountable is the manager. As I said, Jose should have one more season and I'd expect him to bring in experienced stars who may work better with him.

If you have an objective in the real world in a job if you fail you lose your job (big jobs anyway)
If Jose could justify his negatives with a top 4 place hes doing ok.
The fact we're 6th and a hell load of negatives a smart man would say maybe we made a mistake.
The club knows this, they are ran as a business and losing CL will affect us financially.

Let's keep sacking managers every time they don't make the CL and stand to lose lots of money, because that's apparently going to make the club progress.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
this will probably be the 3rd season in 4 that united fail to get top 4..under 3 different managers. at some point we might have to lay some blame at the players' door.
moyes was a shambles, and should never have been hired.
LVG was chopped one year before retirement, after performances so hard on the eyes that united fans were queuing up to do a gloucester (that's a king lear gag for you folks).
there were good reasons for both of them to go, but that doesn't mean every time the team finishes 5th that the manager has to go.

Everton - 53
Man Utd - 43
All hail our beautiful, attacking, progressive football.

Top of the big chances created table, top of the shots taken table
We're far more involved in attacking than we were under LVg

Yet our results are worse.

Competition is stronger now for top 4 than it ever has been, can you think of a season that at this stage there were still 6 teams involved?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst I do agree about the competition, I have to point out it was much the same just last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leicester ran away with the title, same as Chelsea.
Spurs and Arsenal were out in 2nd & 3rd.Then Man Utd, Man City, Southampton, West Ham had 4 points between them, then Liverpool 6 behind in 8th.
Very similar actually.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You genuinely think Saints and West Ham were as big a threat to the top 4 that Arsenal and United are?
Wow.
