LVg destroyed Blackett and Januzaj

Seems as relevant as the debate we're having here
"If they weren't getting into decent positions like last year then you could blame Jose. But they are doing and they are fluffing it more often than not. "
A lot of Rashfords goals come around the 6 yard box, his movement is terrific.
He hasn't spent any time in that position. Very often we are getting crosses in and nobody is to be seen in the box.
I don't think it is. It's the players and the inevitable second season syndrome for both. They are both incredibly young players and are bound to be inconsistent.
..........................
Some of the issues with Martial are down to Jose. There have been games where he has played well and has been dropped for the next game.
You can't put it all on the players and the second season syndrome myth.

What I fail to understand is this - last season the football was dire under LVG and almost all of you wanted him sacked.
This season the football is still dire and you have less points than under LVG but most are defending the manager to the hilt.
What;s the difference ?
I'll tell you just what the difference is - "Look at Jose, he's not wearing any clothes" (Coutresy of Hans Christian Andersen)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
if you watched us up till Christmas our football was very good, but you clearly haven't so maybe you shut your trap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a 6 week period it was good. Let's not extend that to the whole of Aug-Dec, we had games we set up to shut up shop, Liverpool being a good example.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So one game when we were out of confidence and at a venue where nearly all the big teams have been well beaten this season
Bad Jose not getting beaten

What about another youth, Lingard
Has done very well under Jose

he has been mostly medicore

Competition is stronger now for top 4 than it ever has been, can you think of a season that at this stage there were still 6 teams involved?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst I do agree about the competition, I have to point out it was much the same just last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How what? At this point last season their were as many teams realistically competing for top 4 spots. Or is my memory sh-t?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was it this tight though? If Arsenal and united win their games in hand that us Arsenal and united all on the same points isn't it? Or close to it anyway.
Rashford may have regressed under LVG too. There's no guarantee you will just carry on. Look at Vardy last season under Ranieri to this one under him.
He's a kid and he's still learning. He got announced as a superstar (wrongly) and people instantly think he's ready made. All he showed was superstar potential. And he does have it in him. It takes time though.
Rashford has got into great positions just like last season but missed the chance more often that not through poor decision making or not staying calm.
How is that Jose's fault? Now if he wasn't getting chances then we could be concerned.

I posted earlier, from 4th-7th there were 4 points, Liverpool in 8th were 6 behind.
A lot of Rashfords goals come around the 6 yard box, his movement is terrific.
He hasn't spent any time in that position. Very often we are getting crosses in and nobody is to be seen in the box.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We signed Zlatan. And it's a good job we did too.
Rashford leading our team as lone number 9 with Martial and Rooney as only backup wouldn't have gone well for us.
Rashford may have regressed under LVG too.
................
He may not have done. Thus this is an utterly irrelevant and stupid comment to make.
Jose has done what he always does, he's made you hard to beat.
Since the turn of the year there's been literally two players in the box when we are on the attack. I don't know if that's down to tactics, confidence or just fatigue. It's been so frustrating though.

Defenders are wiser to him now. He wasn't even famous just over a year ago.
We've had young players have really good breakthrough seasons under Fergie and disappear. It happens.

Doesn't Rashford couldn't make runs into the box from wide does it?
We never get players in there. It's literally Zlatan and Fellaini, or just Zlatan.
Rashford looked good for England too tbf.
He has the occasional run from wide in field, and he has pace to get in behind, but his real skillets are in the box.
It's all a bit too simplistic to look at rashy and martial and just blame Jose (or just blame 2nd season syndrome)... Zlatan's arrival has changed how we play, for a start.
Anyway.... I'd say there is a bit of improvement under Jose in the overall entertainment... And a quote big improvement in terms of bring very hard to beat.
That's the main reason he deserves another season.... If he can keep that, but adds goals... We are laughing.
More of the same next season and he will go.

You spend a great deal of time on these boards insulting people because they don't agree with you. I'm not even disagreeing with you by the way as I like Rashford and none of us know why he's failing really.
However you can't criticize me for a hypothetical when the opposite is true as well. LVG isn't here anymore so we'll never know either way.
Engage brain.
Zlatan & Rashford as front two could be great but we don't have the midfield to suit it and we'd probably have to drop Pogba or play 3 at the back.
