Come to think of it there is a bit of Myra Hindley resemblance with Jose.

...............

And I am not on about him killing our youth.

Competition is stronger now for top 4 than it ever has been, can you think of a season that at this stage there were still 6 teams involved?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst I do agree about the competition, I have to point out it was much the same just last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leicester ran away with the title, same as Chelsea.

Spurs and Arsenal were out in 2nd & 3rd.Then Man Utd, Man City, Southampton, West Ham had 4 points between them, then Liverpool 6 behind in 8th.

Very similar actually.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly.

I don't think it's just Jose that should be held accountable for our season being a bit of a failure. When will we as fans start looking at the system in place up stairs? Why aren't we employing a DOF and hiring a manager who fits their philosophy? You know.. like City, Chelsea and every other major club in Europe?

Ibra is our best player and he's doing very well with him

Mata is our second best player and he's been very good this season too
_________________________________________

Goals scored
Chelsea - 62
Spurs - 60
liverpool - 66
Arsenal - 61
Man City - 57
Everton - 53
Man Utd - 43

All hail our beautiful, attacking, progressive football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Top of the big chances created table, top of the shots taken table

We're far more involved in attacking than we were under LVg

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet our results are worse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

In some ways. Our away form is much better as is our European form.

There was no progress under LVg last season. He had to go as most wanted him gone. There are signs of progress from Jose and he'll likely get better next season

You genuinely think Saints and West Ham were as big a threat to the top 4 that Arsenal and United are?

Wow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This time last season they were, yes.

Can people stop posting tripe about him ruining young players.

Rashford has played nearly 40 games this season. Martial nearly 30.

And the fact he's having a go at Shaw exactly how LVG did then I think there's an issue with the player not the coach.

Why on Earth are people getting so tetchy about Jose getting criticism? He's doing an awful job only our fans cant see it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no one is getting tetchy, it's just f@cking boring, all the time.

and there are clearly some on here willing him to fail, at least Mex had the decency to admit that he hates the man more than he loves the club. but the rest of you, christ you'd think we'd hired the love child of damien thorn and myra hindley the way some of you go on.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
no utd fan is willing jose to fail, you are an idiot if you think that is true.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
there are clearly "fans" on here willing him to fail, i know what i've read this season. same way there were pool fans willing hodgson to fail.

Nobody wants to see the club fail, you think people want to see this crap served up week in week out?

We are the same we were 12 months ago. Almost everybody says give him another season to see if he can turn it around.

Is that willing him to fail?

Rashford has played nearly 40 games this season. Martial nearly 30.

.....................

Both have been poorer than they were under LVG.

You can't actually argue that one.

The question is, is it down to Jose.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why are people obsessed with this notion that every season players have to improve or the manager fails

Martial was burnt out from last season and came into this one a bit out of sorts. Maybe this is his difficult second season. Happens to everyone. Did SAF improve Welbeck after his great year in 11/12? Nope

As for Rashford , we don't owe him anything. Ibra was needed and has repaid the faith in him. Rashford shouldn't get any favours just because he's young. He still plays more games than any teenager in the two biggest leagues

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

They have to improve themselves. It's called hard work and preparation. They have had chances and are getting into same positions as last year and fluffing their lines. How is that Jose's fault?

Also.....regarding Shaw I think it's positive he's sounding him out because if he didn't rate him, he wouldn't even bring him up. I think he's trying to motivate him.

Other relatively young players like Pogba, Shaw, TFM have failed to make positive impacts this season too, and possibly regressed.

Again is it all down to Jose? I'm not there I don't know, but his record with players under 22 isn't good.

posted on 6/4/17

Pogba is 24 but for the sake of his silly argument Busby calls him a youth

What about another youth, Lingard

Has done very well under Jose

What I fail to understand is this - last season the football was dire under LVG and almost all of you wanted him sacked.
This season the football is still dire and you have less points than under LVG but most are defending the manager to the hilt.
What;s the difference ?
I'll tell you just what the difference is - "Look at Jose, he's not wearing any clothes" (Coutresy of Hans Christian Andersen)

Managers have a huge impact on players mentality. It could be because they're given more defensive responsibility, their training schedules have changed, their confidence is low, the changing of positions, literally anything.

Maybe it isn't down to Jose, I don't know, we do know his record with youth isn't good.

He's not playing with a smile on his face anymore.

Thought he'd just turned 23, my bad! TBH then the only players we have to look at are Martial and Rashford since they're the only ones who play.

if you watched us up till Christmas our football was very good, but you clearly haven't so maybe you shut your trap.

I don't think it is. It's the players and the inevitable second season syndrome for both. They are both incredibly young players and are bound to be inconsistent.

If they weren't getting into decent positions like last year then you could blame Jose. But they are doing and they are fluffing it more often than not.

It's not about the manager. It's the understanding that we have two incredibly talented yet raw players still finding their feet in the game. Those who regularly watched Ronnie when he was 18 19 ,20 will understand.

I think Rashford has played out wide way too much this season and it's hampered his ability to perform in front of goal.

Currently he hasn't.

There was a 6 week period it was good. Let's not extend that to the whole of Aug-Dec, we had games we set up to shut up shop, Liverpool being a good example.

the football has been poor over the past month or so, but in general bears no comparison whatsoever to the desperate tripe frequently seen under LVG.
