Yeah it’s a good point about Pogba. He’s combined nicely with Bruno at time as well. There’s a lot of potential in that midfield, even more so if we get a top coach that can improve the way we collectively move the ball.

The race for the PL's last two CL berths is shaping up nicely. Hopefully it goes down to the final day, with Chelsea home to Wolves and United away at Lockdown City.

Even if United did come up short though, on current form they'd still be in with a fair shout of qualifying via the EL.

Still annoys me we didn’t get him in the summer. We’d be pushing City for second place if we had him all season I reckon.

------------------------------------------

Yeah we'd be comfortably in the top 4 by now.

------------------------------------------

I don’t want to get too carried away, but if he can keep this up, and get some more time to develop through the middle, it won’t be long before he benches Martial.

------------------------------------------------

I really think the break has had huge benefits for him physically because he seems a little more robust, not only in his physique but he's holding players off better, he looks a bit more dynamic and shown good energy in his pressing and defending.

As far as development goes this season could not have gone much better for him.

Back in Spain, the top Segunda sides are taking it in turns to drop points.

Zaragoza missed out on top spot by losing at home to Huesca, who in turn hauled themselves back into the thick of it, while Almeria only managed to scrape a point away to Mirandes.

Tenerife opened round 37 with a home draw against Deportivo, putting an end to their 3-game winning streak and halting their march up the table. Still very much in contention for a playoff place though.

Cadiz followed up with a goalless draw at Elche (currently 5th). Not a bad result in and of itself, but it gives Zaragoza a third chance of taking the lead. They'd need to beat Girona, who are vying for a playoff berth, away on Friday.

Almeria, and Huesca are both at home (to Sporting and Las Palmas, respectively) and would be just 3 and 2 points off Cadiz if they win.

A bit lower down, ten teams sit within five points of each other for the last two playoff places.

Some of the Greenwood hyperbole on twitter is exhausting apparently he’ll be like a peak RVP with a better right foot.

Chelsea also have to face Liverpool (away, I think) in round 36 or 37. Fancy them of all sides doing you a favour.

And Spurs still to come for them too? Or was that one of the others?

Sheff Utd definitely most unlucky after the break. They’d have likely kept a bit more momentum and Man Utd/Spurs etc wouldn’t have had the opportunity to have a lot of injured players returning.

Spurs remaining fixtures are Sheff Utd, Everton, Bournemouth, Arsenal, Toon, Leicester and Palace - in that order. Could be in the mix for sure come end of July.

Yeah I mentioned before that he looked a bit timid on the ball before the break and that once he bulks up we should see him more confident with it. Didn’t think he’d bulk up that quick and start showing it so soon.

Wolves

They’ve got the bald, bearded Mourinho. I can’t stand them. Absolutely facking shiiiiiiit to watch and only exist in the league because some Chinese billionaires wanted to let Mendes have a puppet to play with.

Hope Spurs finishing above them.

I can't see Spurs coming close tbh, Edin. You might even be pushed for the Least-Crap-Team-in-North-London Trophy.

Obviously I hope that doesn't happen Hate Spurs more than anyone, although Chelsea are a close second.

What's your reason behind hating Wolves this much, Dazza? It can't just be because of their owners?

How come? It’s a relatively generous set of fixtures left.

I expect Spurs to finish ahead of us tbh. Our remaining fixtures aren't that kind. Not that it matters because we're both not getting CL football, so who really cares?

posted on 1/7/20

For those reasons. The Mendes thing in particular, it’s a facking disgrace, to be honest. And what piiiiiisses me off even more is they get praise for it. People think it’s some amazing accomplishment and that they even play good football. Like do these priiiick even watch them or know anything about the club?

They’re a financially doped up Burnley with a super agent as director of football.

Couldn't care less about Europe tbh. It's nice to have obvs, and I know it's needed for finances, but I have some form of PTSD watching us in Europe the last 15 years or so.

Europa money will be so key postCOVID. I think someone was saying depending on if Utd win EL and City won the FA Cup or something it could drop down as low as 9th

posted on 1/7/20

It can drop to 8th if Arsenal don’t win the cup and City’s ban stays.

Spurs only being 2 points ahead of us despite our worst season in 26 years is also hilarious
