UEFA aren't going to ban any countries teams from playing in Europe next season. They haven't got the balls, for fear that it could start up talk of a European Super League again.

'The considerable momentum for a Super League, a desire shared by a cabal of the game’s wealthiest clubs, is now only likely to increase. In attempting to preserve the integrity of Financial Fair Play, UEFA is casting itself as an obstacle to sporting megalomania and that, inevitably, will bring the threat of revolution even closer.'

UEFA: Right, that's it. We warned you, and still you didn't take any notice of us. No European football for you next season, you naughty clubs!

Clubs: Yeah, bye then.

Who cares if / or when the season resumes or does not / is nulled?

Whatever happens it became meaningless long ago, there will no achievement worthy of a second mention whatever the outcome.

Why would anybody want to celebrate and take kudos from this season, "Liverpool FC, Coronavirus champions 2020" as well as "VAR Champions 2020"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Completely unfair. Liverpool are having one of the best seasons any team has had. They're quite right to want to celebrate after the all clear.
It's just jealousy dressed up as concern.
They may have to make a one off trophy or medal if the season can't be finished.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I said something similar the other day. If it is cancelled/voided or whatever you call it, they deserve some sort of recognition.

Not sure if awarding them the PL trophy is the right thing to do though. But it is fair that they receive some sort of award as the best team up to the ceasation of the league.

I think they will be big favourites next season, and will most likely win the league, bringing them level with Blackburn and Leicester. Small comfort for them.

Nice try

It does seem harsh, Belgium cancelled their league and maintained the current league positions as final so they would automatically miss out

If the PL think it is necessary they could give Liverpool a special "Getting A Lot Of Points By March" trophy?

But what else could you get a trophy for this season, if it is not completed.

And please don't say for winning it.

You haven't, yet.

How about a 3/4 size trophy. For winning 3/4s of the season. It would still look like a full size one in the hands of Shaqiri

Looking like UEFA will make the final call.

The season will be cancelled and called as it is. Liverpool will be given the title. There will be no relegation and two teams will be promoted to an enlarged league.

Bookmark this. Don't say I didn't tell you.

Liverpool are only `smashing the season up` by so far thanks to referees and VAR though, if the officials had done their jobs properly throughout the season, the gap at the top would far far less and there would still be a competitive title race. I`m not saying they would not win it, because they are a good side, but they are not 25 points better than anybody else, you can not forget all the favour they get from the officials, the same applies to United.

Nobody yet, because the powers that be are weak and are desperately trying to find a way to make Liverpool FC happy.

Ive hard it all from you lot. "Football cant continue without finishing this season" . WTF!

Of course football should be cancelled and voided this season like all other sports. I sounds daft having to type this considering what is going on in the World.

Or just give them the fecking trophy if it means that much to them. It's all pretty meaningless now, anyway.

I thought it was because they don't want to lose a billion or two but I guess you know better so I'll take your word for it.

Pretty embarrassing, no? They'd do anything for their pet club, Liverpool.

CAS have accepted the fact that UEFA have a case to answer.

City can't be banned until the hearing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as UEFA are concerned, City are banned until they are served with a court order stating otherwise. The CAS has admitted the case but issued no such order. Admitting the case down not mean the ban is reversed Nice try.

Now that Covid is here, City should just withdraw the appeal and serve the time.

Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano has revealed the Premier League team's 'latest plans' in regards to the appeal to the CAS over the two-year ban from the UEFA Champions League, reports Athletic journalist Sam Lee.

On Tuesday, CAS asserted that in-person hearings are suspended until May at the earliest due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and have stated that cases such as Manchester City's will need to be postponed or decided via video calls instead.

Soriano is said to have informed fellow employees at Manchester City that, in light of the present situation, the club are 'open to a conference call' and 'remain keen to resolve the matter as quickly as possible'.

This attitude further reinforces the belief that Manchester City's hierarchy are confident in the likelihood of success for their appeal, and want to have their case heard as soon as possible.

However, the club's appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport was not among the list of 18 cases scheduled to be heard between April 23 and June 26. The date for Manchester City's hearing thus remains uncertain - but, the club's willingness to resort to the option of a conference call will mean that it is 'less likely' that the appeal faces 'further delay',

So zero sign of the season being cancelled then. That will upset a few.
