Isn’t the money paid in instalments with the last one being the largest amount?

If so they just don’t pay it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its already been paid. Needs to be refunded.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How will it be refunded? Clubs have already spent it. There are very few profitable clubs in the Prem so the money isn't lying around in the bank, is it?

Also, apart from the refund, there is the issue of a further tranche of money payable in May which will not be paid under current circumstances. This is how Burnley are reaching their figure of £50m expected in losses.

These are unprecedented times. People are rushing to criticise this or that but with time I think there will be vindication for some and the opposite for others.

You having a laugh? You actually silly enough to believe that sky is suffering any hardship here? Their subscriptions for entertainment, movies etc will have increased worldwide by more than enough to recoup any sports losses.
-------
Really? Have you got the figures for this or a link maybe?

Could Music, TV shows and movies cover for cancellation of ALL sport? (Not just football).

Also, it's not just Sky, some companies are focussed on sport and don't have an entertainment option. What about those?

The players called out by Matt Hancock should give that 30% with a smile, then hold a press conference and give it some "WE'VE coughed up so where's the 30% from each of the Conservative party contributors then? They've all got WAY MORE money than us!" See how that goes down.

Read a wee bit more closely. It’s not a cut as you and I know it.

Most of it is a deferral which is just a cash flow adjustment. The “cut” is believed to be 10%.

Not talking about those, I'm talking about SKY. The people you're talking about are also the little guy, in Sky's world. It was on the news days after this started TV streaming services had subscription booms. Sky owns Now TV for starters, then has a piece of the streaming pie from all who show their stuff and use their satellites. I bet you Sky aren't giving the streaming little guys a pass on the fee they pay sky, nor a refund on a damn thing they paid for. THEY'LL be citing the outbreak as some extenuating circumstance and wriggling out of paying.

Don't confuse the smaller business on the brink of collapse, with the economic monster that is sky TV. You're talking about one of the companies whose owners have it within their power to ring a few mates and between them, could easily foot the worldwide bill for this, FROM PERSONAL FORTUNES! And STILL BE dirty, filthy, stinking rich. Last thing anyone should be defending is sky or any other billionaire's businesses be paid/refunded. Unlike the other 95% of the world, THEY can afford to lose the money!

Its all well and good to say this but is there any way to enforce it? Its philosophically correct but what about practicability? The noose is already around the neck, so to speak.

Well the clubs who have "already spent it" are going to have to damned well come up with it.
And give it back.
Anyone stooopid enough to spend money the moment they get it deserve to get jailed.

All the clubs have already spent it. Extremely few have the reserves to pay back any thing.

That is just ignorant rubbish.
Joe Lewis is worth 5 Billion GPB, with a "B".
And he wont want to spend any of it...
but he IS Tottenham Hotspur

This is why the very top has to be made to cough up this time. Nobody has the cash reserves why? Because of bosses and shareholders pocketing huge bonuses and share payouts. Big business forever harps about how prices can't be dropped, they have maintain a margin "In case the business hits troubled times." But every year the bosses have put the troubled times money in their OWN bank accounts and not the companies. Same feckers now wanna STILL KEEP all the money they basically stole. Claiming the company cant afford it, leaving the taxpayer to foot the bill of losses that are only happening because they stole all the company money and have it in their personal accounts.

Feck Em! Tell em to suck it up and you enforce it by freezing and seizing company assets and the personal finances of every individual with a 7 figure payout. Called "Not feckin about with kid gloves." And if it doesn't happen to billionaires now then it's never going to happen. The nation's back is to the wall so it really is time to play hardball with the Greens and Murdoch's of the world. You aren't rich and powerful if a government seizes ya sh!t and leaves you penniless and better believe a government has no legality in the way during national crisis. Especially no one with a majority like this one. Stomping on the rights of a handful of billionaires so you needn't risk trampling the right of a nation, isn't a bad idea for anyone in charge. Angry NATIONS aren't as easy to control as the movies make em look. All stick is always the harder, longer and more expensive road. It's now governments around the world will be remembering which billionaires really p!seed em off.

I'm sorry but that whole post is just stupid. Easier said than done. Will never happen.

You guys should start with yourselves.

What are you doing to change things apart from preaching about it on an anonymous football forum? You're just as bad as anyone else and you're doing nothing about it. Its just an opportunity to criticise and preach to others so you feel good about yourself but really you're not helping anything even in your day to day life.

Easy to preach when you're capacity to reason is equivalent to that of a praying mantis.
