Celtic Season Tickets

I'm a bit 50-50 on this. As you know I am claiming my refund and always was.

The season book one is a funny one. We are getting access to the games but no consideration for those who have many season ticket holders in the same house hold. However, if 40000 adult season ticket holders take their refund then it can cost the club well over £4M.

Now I have no problem with taking my refund while players are earning well over 20k a week. As for this home screening thing. Celtic are now between a rock and a hard place - they want to give the fans the best team possible for going for 10IAR but can't realistically do so if they continue to refund for games already into the season and don't want to commit to that.

I have no issue with that. they have said they'll make it up to us. Whether that is reduced European tickets or group stage tickets or a refund or discount on next season we do not know but we can't demand success and not expect the club to be impacted by the pandemic

It's the SLO that I feel sorry for, he is getting a lot of hassle on twitter with claims of emotional blackmail while he is trying to defend the club on his own

Motherwell have stated they will knock the price off however many games are behind closed doors from season 2021/2022.

That's all Celtic had to say and fans would have accepted it.

Instead they're taking us for mugs once again.

I don't really agree with you to be honest.

My season ticket is the same price as last year and I'm happy to pay it, even though I don't know when I'll be back in the ground. In many ways I saw it as a donation to the club.

In fact I paid it before the club announced that we'll get 1/19th off our season ticket next season for every game we aren't able to go to in person (not including the first two games of the season), which I think is overly generous to be honest.

Obviously our perspectives will be different as you're a plc and therefore shareholders have to be protected, while of course your season tickets are more expensive than ours.

My ticket went up from £450 to £475 this season and i'm also going to watch at least the first 4 or 5 home games on the tele so effectively i'm paying £475 for say 13/14 home games which is around £34-£36 a game.

I already paid my season ticket back in May but i had hoped the club would see sense for this season, i had no issue with not claiming the refund last season, happy to let them keep it at the time.

Effectively though they've shot themselves in the foot now, the amount of fans who are in a position where their household has effectively paid £120 to watch a Celtic game on the tele

They should have held the prices as the same as last season to be fair.

Or bumped up prices for new season tickets to help cover any projected losses, thus rewarding renewals.

Do you not think the fans that don’t go to games will easily meet the value?

Up until 2 seasons ago there was no st holders in my house and I think if there was a game on I’d probably pay 32 quid to watch it and deal without the hassle.

Granted my family are Celtic supporters so it would be less than 20/month each. Considering the money you’d save on travel, food and bevvy, it’s no a massive outlay.

Travel? What a fiver.

Do people not eat or drink in the house? If anything, more considering they're in the house.

Slight difference between the club's back balances

I'm torn on it. I won't take into account the travel costs that I will be saving as it is something I am happy to pay as part of going to the games.

I expect some sort of reparation for the cost of the tickets but not a full refund as I am not sure that another refund of over £4M is something the club can afford without significantly impacting the team.

As I said I'd expect a discount on EL or CL group games

I don't think anyone expected a full refund mate but surely they could have knocked off £50 from all ST's for this season at least?

It's the fact there is absolutely nothing from them whatsoever.

Fair enough. Perhaps the club underestimated the fans expectations or perhaps the fans are too impatient to see what refund will be given.

It's a tough place for all. The club want the strongest club possible going for 10 and the seasons beyond while many fans are considering the financial impact of a season ticket in these times.

I don't think there is a perfect solution. I suspect the club will make something formal sooner rather than later as a result of the backlash

I've no read every detail about it all just picked up on peoples thoughts on Twitter and on here

I don't think my opinion matters as I'm not a paying season ticket holder

The club know if people have a problem with it and decide to not renew theres thousands of people waiting to pick up the pieces

what's the score with hospitality packages? main stand season tickets?

see it says a top 4 PL team want Forster

still reckon we'd get him over one of them, can't see him having such a successful season to go and probably be 2nd or even 3rd choice somewhere else especially after all the problems he had off the park at Southampton

I can fully understand a company stance on this to be honest. They could potentially lose huge revenues in very strange and unprecedented times and have to protect themselves as best as they can with that background.

One way of thinking through it as that we are on the upward curve of getting out of this pandemic and that in the not too distant future fans can go back. There is of course the flip side that could see a huge second and third and fourth wave of this pandemic sending everything back into lockdown (if you believe some scientists - I never have).

I think we should go with it until the end of the season and see where we are then. It's a huge one for us with the potential 10 in a row and we want the club to have the best resources to get that over the line. Having seen next to fwck all of behind closed doors football I am of the opinion that it's a massive leveller with a huge drop in home wins with having no crowd behind the team and we will need to be at our best for that length of time.

All going well however and we get the title with crowds returning, then should Celtic have a very profitable season I would suggest they then make it up to the support with a sensible price cut across the board. Failing to do that would cost them very dearly I believe.

As ever time will tell.
