Modern studies for us. 'Boaby Halfbottle' and his 'special' mug of coffee. So many boys thrown up against walls in that class. (Not filth)

One my brothers was a lawyer and now and again when I was a student we would meet up around lunchtime (he was paying) for a bite and a pint. Back then I honestly couldn't believe the number of 'businessmen' getting tore into copious amounts of alcohol at lunchtime.

I am left wing in my leanings and have been a Union member in the past, what I do now has no Union but my experience of Unions has been mixed, some good some bad, I wont say which one but there was a certain one I was utterly dismayed with as their sole purpose seemed to be threatening strike action every time a member got sacked and 99.9% of the time the sack was well deserved.

Not me. The minute I see 'lawyer' I think of timmy.

Actually, I filtered him last week as he was doing my box in. I feel a bit bad about that. If only he wouldn't keep changing his name, I could unfilter him.

When I was a teacher there was one school that had small 'distributed' staff rooms capacity <10. The one I used they had the demijohns bubbling away in the cupboards. Cants with 'tea mug' of wine several times a day into the class room.

I agree with that. I think people (I do) lump teachers in with the actions of their unions.
---
Partially. Mostly teachers confuse union 'advice' with union 'instructions' though. They think the union is their boss. It's laziness, to be honest. Really, the price I pay for having some muscle behind me should a female student say I spoke to her inappropriately.
Which I never do. In front of witnesses.

The B-i-L had a case a few years ago. She framed it as bullying. Basically a lazy cow who'd never been told her work was sub-standard. Easily dismissed by the court. He was retiring at x-mas there and the cow tried to bring a further case before he went. Easily dismissed again - having a husband probably helped him!

Got made an emeritus prof last week.

Teachers get grouped in a pejorative way like no other profession. After 40+ years, I quite enjoy the annual June vitriol. Usually from grunters who now have to look after the weans they sired. It's open season this year tho

Not read back yet. Has anyone said how surface cleaning will be done 6/7 times per day in every room and shared space? Deep cleaning of every building every day? Even in a small secondary, tens of thousands of hands touch a banister per day. There's an acute shortage of contract cleaners in Scottish schools as it is. Where are these thousands of sanitisers going to come from, who will pay them, and who will provide the materials? Who will wipe the rses of 5 year olds, break up physical fights, and stop wee neds from spitting at Staff and other kids?

Easily solved; the janny with a shovelful of sawdust.

Always works.

Just furlough all the teachers over 45 - usually the most scunnered anyway - and everyone else virtually zero chance of death so have classes as normal, no social distancing.

Some would go for it.

Nothing ever changes tho.

It's only teachers that are gash, alkies, & looking out for dodgy mates.

Never get that in the boardroom, Parliament, or council chambers.

Back to OP

Our cartel is now 6 between around 10 folk and I weigh in 2 of them.

We made a decision to take the rebate & put it to next season.

If I was St Mirren, Falkirk Dundee U, etc I wouldn't have taken it.

We don't have hospitality just seats.

Poor response from the club but not a deal breaker.
