Our local said the brewery told them they've received word they can open the beer garden from 18th June.

Hopefully that's the case, i can't wait for the taste of an ice cold pint.

It's looking promising, that is the set date of the next review.

I could chug over a picture of a pint at this stage.

When beer gardens open they'll have to have table bookings and maximum occupancy times for each table.

Otherwise it'll be chaos on the first few days/weeks/months/years.

So what is the etiquette for not mentioning just how much of my drink my wife's friends new boyfriend drank at my hoose in the garden on Sat and brought not one can with himBeer, wine, whisky, gin, he tanned a lot and I suppose he was thinking I might never meet this fandan again so may as well scoop his bevy

Though it would have been polite to at least bring a bottle of wine

Primary schools going back in England in 2 weeks scrapped.

All schools in the UK back in September then.

Imagine nurseries will be a similar timeline?

Seems schools are more afraid than care homes these days

The ones least at risk along with the recent WHO statement that it would be a rare event for someone who is asymptomatic to pass on this virus.

One would almost be forgiven in thinking that unions and politicising this was at play here whilst being paid in full by the public purse not to work.

All of the teachers I know, and I probably know more than most folk on here, are working harder from home than they would need to in class.

But naw. Long holidays and that. Skivers.

Also, a good few of the teachers I know would get it.

They're dirty cows in their free time. Which obviously they have loads of.

Because I’m absolutely 100% certain I never even intimated that.

You do get some shiftless teachers, but it's an unfortunate cliche that seem to follow the rest of them around. The majority of them work harder than they're paid to.

I'd have thought the nation's kids being at home for the past three months would have woken people up to how difficult kids are even without trying to teach them.

Mind you, I teach adults so the fack I give is limited.

I think that the main point of concern here.

Meeting aside teachers undertake so many areas of social care that they shouldn’t. There is distinct and huge gulf between social community care and education that needs bridged and filling.

However. Teachers can’t hide behind unions until they decree that there is “no risk”. That day may never come.

And despite housewife of Cheshire and her financial advisor husband now working from home; they couldn’t be worse equipped to get little Samantha to elementary, far less A grade standard.

We need the schools to return. We understand the risks and they are less than kids being hurt crossing the road or cycling to school now. Teachers who are vulnerable should shield and not enter the classroom and money released for extra supply teachers as necessary. I’d rather they argued that point than the absolute sheite they are spouting.

Well over 40 years in and around schools as an adult.

Most duffers were those who had already failed elsewhere.

Fugitives from the financial sector, commerce, & industry.

Younger struggling teachers always showed a willingness to learn.

These arrogant fvkers were - and are - unchangeable.

Pointy will know more than me about this as even more go to FE.

I've gone onto iPad to spare yer eyes fae double spacing

<Seems schools are more afraid than care homes these days>

Most care homes have fewer than 100 people, many much less than that. They are also more geared up for dealing with vulnerable people.

Most schools have over 1,000 going in including Staff. Some are over 2,000. In tightly confined spaces with hard surfaces everywhere. Doors, desks, handrails, & one toilet to 260 on average. Many hundreds of keyboards each used by 7/8 different people in as many hours. Each and every day. A new group enters each learning space every 50 minutes in the case of secondaries. It make the restart of football look like a dawdle.

My daughter is a P2 teacher. She is on Microsoft Teams every day, contacting families, planning courses, writing reports, & was doing so until 9pm last night. This afternoon she was delivering food parcels to needy families in the school. An hour ago she was constructing PE lessons to be sent to families. Because of year on year cutbacks at national and local level, Social Work has virtually vanished. Schools and the Third Sector are struggling to fill that gap. Last year when they were P1, three children arrived who were still using diapers. 2 were frequent ‘spitters‘ in their regular tantrums.

I was in 2 schools today trying to salvage something from expedition programmes. They were full of Staff trying to cope with ever changing dictates from above, as well as the children of key workers.

Absolutely no apology for the length of this post.

Sad state of affairs, TMQ. It sounds like the political mantras of Health, Social Care, Education and a Police have been replaced with cuts all over. Combined with poor parenting, it becomes a toxic mix. Most weans are guided and nurtured by their parents. Some of These same parents do not nurture at all.
