the back four isnt going to ship many, not that it did by and large before Varane but its superbly improved.

We conceded 44 goals last season, that is a stupid amount of goals we let in.

posted on 27/7/21

yeah much worse than City, a couple worse than Liverpool and 8 worse than a very defensive back 8 at Chelsea.

but in terms of the league, 4th worst.

if we stopped with the game plan of let the opposition get a head start that would probably help haha

I’d be happy with Ndidi at this point

If we got an elite goalkeeper, cdm and manager then we would have a great chance of winning the league or champions league.

true, but 1/4 of those came in the first 3 matches, when we were very clearly suffering fitness and lack of pre-season issues

oh not the manager thing again.

Ole is learning his trade, and is improving, the decision to hire a set piece specialist coach shows he has the ability to recognize weaknesses and address them.

why as a club are we so keen to see our youth and patient to develop it but we dont extend that same courtesy to one of our own in management?

winning the PL in this era of state run clubs and oil barons is not what it was in the 90's and early 00's. even the great SAF would struggle to dominate like he did in this era.

We need two midfielders really.

Dont stop at the manager. Why bother buying any players. Let's just give everyone from the academy time to develop, whether they are good enough or not. Surely we can hope McFred develop into world class players, obviously track record doesn't matter to you.

Bang on. I do get tired of fans of Man Utd criticising our manager, OUR manager when he's had a third and second. Even à blind man can see he is improving every aspect of the football side.
Youth, first team, coaches. Whether it will be enough, I don't know. City, Chelsea, Pool at à minimum are aiming for the same.
But I so much more prefer shouting for Ole, our manager, United my team.

So you want to replace the manager that has built a good squad to the strengths that he wants? Surely you let him see what he can do with that squad first?

We don't really need him to be expansive. Just win the ball back, protect the defence and keep it simple.

He's not really a set piece specialist. He was Chelsea's youth coach. Any coach today should know how to coach set pieces.

Because he was Chelsea youth coach doesn't stop him specialising in set piece play
