At least he's not going to score against us, unless we meet in the Champion's League of course.

I think the Traore deal is the best Wolves can do in the circumstances. We could keep him, but his value only drops. Hopefully he goes on to prove his worth to Barcelona, and we get some decent money, knowing we are not facing up to him anytime soon.

Now lets hope we pull a rabbit out of the hat to help us in the second half of the season. Won't be holding my breath.

I'm quite happy to go with what we have. But I'm sure Wolves will be looking how best to use any money available. Be it this Window or the summer.

On the bright side we haven't lost anything in the goals column.

I would be quite happy if the club decide never to make another signing. If they decide to bring the right player in at the right price then I would agree with that decision as well. If they’re not available then I would rather we don’t do business.

How did I do Amiga?

A relatively reliable ITK seems to think we have two possibles on the table.

Both Bruno and Moutinho nominated for January awards.

Lets hope Bruno doesn't get it

Not too bad Blackcountry

This would have been better, but not quite right. You get a B for effort though

But in your view any player they bring in will mean they brought him in at the right price because you believe the club make no mistakes.

So we can all finally agree, lets hope the club bring in some players as they can only be the right player at the right price regardless.

I have never said the club don't make mistakes, I did say the trick is to limit those mistakes to a minimum, which they have. Unlike a team like Everton.

I'm always up for the club bringing in players. I just don't expect them, and understand the club will do a deal when it is right to do so. it isn't that hard Cinci.

Correct, it isn't that hard to do a deal. With a raft of professionals behind the scenes we should expect them to get it right more often than not.

As for Everton, this season is a disaster but that is mostly down to the manager issues.

In the last 17 seasons they have finished bottom half 4 times, the lowest 12th. Top 7 nine times.

Everton have spent 500 million and achieved nothing. If Wolves got anywhere close to such a shoddy return.

We would all be right to be critical

I have them as second favourites.

They could do it. Burrows has looked really good and his connection with Chase is excellent. I think they will probably target Sorensen with deep throws. The trouble is that the Chiefs have Mahomes, Hill and Kelce if it becomes a shootout.

Should be a good one though. Looking forward to it.

Ha yeah, longshot to say the least but we did beat them a month ago. Bit different when they are in need though with those weapons.

The Chiefs - Bills game last week was ridiculous. Mahomes and Allen going at each other was great to watch. Hopefully this week is as good.

To be honest, I like both the Bengals and the Chiefs this year so I'm not bothered who wins. Just going to enjoy it.

So it looks to me that Barca have engineered a deal where they get the player they want in exchange for a player they have decided is not good enough. Meanwhile, Wolves lose a player that has been valued at £60m in the past and gain a player whose best attribute is that he speaks Portuguese.
Shiitty end of the stick or what?

I dunno Gem, bit simplistic that.

Not sure a loan without obligation would make much sense and some talk that Barca just can't actually claim an obligation due to their current issues.

End of the day we have shown we are more than capable without Traore and we also have Hwang and Neto coming back so I honestly don't think we will miss him most of the time. Trincao is a better all around footballer for me, though he hasn't done a crazy amount yet himself.

posted on 27/1/22

I don't understand it at all.
Unless its certain that they will buy him all we get is 4 months salary savings and a probable drop in his value.

posted on 27/1/22

It’s up to Traore to prove his worth to them then the deal will go through. I think it’s a pretty safe bet personally. Another player, like Jota, moving on to one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Sad to see them go but can’t blame the players for wanting such moves. Good luck to them. Just hope the likes of Neves and Neto don’t follow suit any time soon
