The Glazers want success, thats why they have authorised such a huge spend.
Yes commercial deals are important to us, but they always have been. What club arent they important to?
And i dont see how the owners or board can be held responsible for the players poor attitude / application / effort.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do the Glazers even know what success looks like?
Being able to use Utd as an ATM is success to them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What a silly question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's the truth
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You dont think after 15 years owning the club, and years of criticism from fans and pundits that theybdont k ow what success looks like ?
Cone on man. They arent perfect, but lets not be silly about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It takes 15 years of ownership for you to realise they are actually useless parasites?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good business men and we could do far worse for owners.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Far worse than ones who actually bring success?

Hopefully you'll make Culer a director.
It's pretty obvious they need to be vastly better in their recruitment of staff and players.
You could then move on to giving extended contracts on huge money to bang average players.
Then they could sort out Old Trafford.

The owners / execs dont choose transfer targets. Thats on the scouts, coaches, and ultimately, the manager.
Managers, OK, but there have been very few stand out candidates we have turned down when needing a manager.
Plans are underway to renovate or replace the stadium.
Nah the FSG model isn’t what we want. They don’t let Klopp have that much control over transfers… they have a transfer committee for example that can overrule him on signings.
We need the right manager but we also need to give him full control over that side of things.

Yes, so FSG appointed Klopp, Edwards, Inglethorpe and all the staff who find and sign players and we're really good. That's how it works. City have done the same with

Football clubs need to get the recruitment right behind the scenes and it's glaringly obvious the Glazers are absolutely terrible at it.

The city success is tainted by the FFP 'avoidance' in most peoples opinion.
You just need a good manager with a defined style of play and the ability to motivate. He’ll then need the stones to get rid of players that aren’t good enough and/or fit style of play and the acumen to identify players that do fit in to his plan.
Sounds easy, it’s obviously not. But Utd have everything else - they’re one of the largest and richest clubs in the world, you have the resources to be successful. The the owners have made enough resource available to be successful.
Back the right horse this summer and let them reshape the squad freely and you could be back competing for the big prizes within a couple of years. By freely I mean taking financial hits on players that don’t fit and the financial backing to bring in those that do.

They refuse to buy the wrong players though. So they got a stop gap and then brought in Konate who is in all likelihood going to be exceptional. That's why we're good and Utd are shiiiiiiiiiiit.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably not. There were a lot of issues last year and integrating another CB (however good they might have been) wouldn’t necessarily have worked wonders.
People tend to focus on the CB injuries, with some justification, at the expense of the desperately poor form (at times) of our forwards. And a combination of injury and poor form from midfield - albeit that fact 1 or 2 of them were in defence didn’t help.
As Robbing says, the owners have backed Klopp.
I don't know one person irl who has ever said cities trophies are tainted or what have you, that is strictly an online thing.

Glazers are terrible at recruiting terrible people who recruit terribly for the club who play terribly.

We've spent plenty under Klopp and doubled our wage bill. Klopp is also getting paid an enormous amount. People who say he isn't backed have no idea what they're talking about.

Exactly
Net spend under Klopp is pretty high

Yes, so FSG appointed Klopp, Edwards, Inglethorpe and all the staff who find and sign players and we're really good. That's how it works. City have done the same with
Begiristain and Pep.

There is corruption in all walks of life.
You either get away with it or are stupid enough to get found out.

Its simple really. They are clearly willing to spend. Why not get someone good to be in charge and spend the money.

They've spent it all well and made good decisions regardless.
Utd are just a banter club now. Barely elite.

They refuse to buy the wrong players though. So they got a stop gap and then brought in Konate who is in all likelihood going to be exceptional. That's why we're good and Utd are shiiiiiiiiiiit.

You talking manager or board level ?
Didnt we do OK last Summer? Varane was good value, and we got Sancho for a lot less than they had wanted.
