Net migration in 2024 was 415,000.

However, deaths outstripped births by 16,500 and this is an increasing trend due to a record low birth rate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

and we have +1m immigrants on benefits.

Would you move to another country and take from their system and not expect to be questioned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You dont 'take' beneifits (as you are alluding to here) You receive them if you are legally entitled to them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry, my eye sight aint good enough to split such tiny hairs.

its just an extension of the old; they are coming over here taking our jobs and benefits and chagging our women' nutshell

Just as an example, there are 1.3 million empty homes in this country, during a housing crisis, thats driven rents to unprecedented levels.

Who do you think owns them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Probably your Mums airbnb business

Damn those 2nd/3rd/4th etc home-owners, ruining our property market
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I mean you can be facetious, but rent is an actual real problem and one that has a genuine effects on tens of millions of people in what is clearly a manipulated market.

But you’re concerned that Doctor Iqbals son claims a bit of UC while trying to get a job.

You’re either being conned, or you hate immigrants so much that you can’t see the real, everyday problems facing this country that are caused by the elite class.

You’d like greater efficiency from immigrants. Well boo-hoo, they’re only bringing £3.5bn profit a year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree. This country has many problems and funnily enough my views on lots of them have been expressed on other threads, ones not about GNevs "white middle aged men" (migrant) page.

But hey, assume that all I care about is immigration and therefore I am a racist. it's really clever.

posted 3 weeks, 6 days ago

There's only about 5-6m households in privately rented accommodation so lets not start doing the right wing thing and massively exaggerating a problem - "10s of millions" it isnt.

But i agree its an issue.

I don't agree it's manipulated.

One of the biggest issues is the planning system and, funnily enough, people from all walks of live who don't want anything, from new housing estates to asylum hotels, on their doorsteps. People just love to protest!

Approximately 19.9 million people lived in rented accommodation in the UK as of the 2021 census

1. Where have you pulled that figure from? The census doesnt give that detail !

2. About 40% of renters are in social housing. It is the private renting market who are the ones subject to rent hikes, lack of supply etc.....you know, the ones that are feeling the "actual real problem" you talk of.

3. Still not 10s of millions either!.

Exaggerating, doubling down, tripling down...straight from the Farage/Trump playbook. I think you secretly admire them.

Who agreed with Trump's opinion on Sadiq Khan then had to backtrack and clarify not the racist bit just Tue terrible mayor bit?

The whole world are rejecting my beliefs are they?

Look, you’re talking absolute sh!t, and like I said, when you don’t have access to healthcare and you lose the house you’ve worked so hard for, come and have a chat then eh?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

US and Italy have right wing governments.

UK, France and Germany all look set to follow suit....

So yeah I'd say that's a pretty big indication your time is over for now at least. The left's time will obviously come again though eventually but only when they start making sense again and find their balls.

This forum is a left woke Echo chamber so I'm well aware I'm not in the majority on here. However in wider society I think it's safe to say I am.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well at least you live up to your tyranny of the majority name.

19.9million people were estimated to have lived in retal accommodation in the UK in 2021 Census based on data supplied by the Office of National Statistics

Thats exactly where he pulled that stat from.

But to you and other Farageites these kind of stats dont mean anything anymore. Like the difference between 150k and 3million. Or paracetamol doesnt harm pregnant women. There is an old addage in PR that if you repeat something 3 times on TV the viewers start to believe you no matter how daft it seems

That’s just so Tory. Brilliant, and a subtle reminder that right-wingers will say absolutely anything. Please bare that in mind when people say we’re being invaded by small boats but actually it’s only 33500 people, which are overwhelmingly made up as women and children.

Just a message to the brown immigrants too. Yes, you enrich our lives with culture, and yes you are a major part of our public services but can you just be even more efficient please? You’re only bringing in £3.5bn a year and ze right vant more!

Achtung! Achtung!

Actually, as long as the number exceeds 10 million, the expression ‘10s of millions’ is correct.

A little fact I picked up as I limped my way through a maths a-level.

So where in the census was that number again. In the section called Hoody's made-up stats?

You have stated that 10s of millions are impacted by the rent crisis. Even taking your numbers at face value, that is to assume that everyone, EVERYONE renting is in crisis. They aren't. Its to take a genuine statistic and exaggerate to meet your narrative. Again classic Trump/Frarage play book.

And that's before we get to your wildly inaccurate "small boat asylum seekers are overwhelming female and kids"

Here, from the Migration Observatory (Oxford Uni):

"The majority of those arriving in small boats are men over the age of 18 – around 76% of 2024 arrivals for whom this information was recorded. Another 14% of arrivals were children under 18. These proportions have been stable over time".

Dealing in more BS while accusing others of being conned

I am happy to debate the pros and cons of migration, and policy on anything tbh, and we have to a degree.

But you (rightly) attack the right for the BS they spread and there you are doing the exact same thing to push your narrative. Your approach is as idiotic and misleading as theirs.

You think i have a problem with "brown faces" is yet another insulting assumption by you. We discussed above the financial waste of some of the immigration system and i am fully aware (and have referred to previously) that there is about 750,000 EU immigrants currently on UC half of which have no job. My concerns are not about the principle of immigration, or the source of immigration and you will not find a comment from me on here that contradicts that. But hey, Hoody says its all about 'brown faces'. More simpleton conclusions.

As for your Naazi connotations, just moronic! but true to form.

If you want to retrieve accurate stats on housing in the UK see the link below which was compiled by the Office For National Statistics based on the 2021 Census.

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/housing/bulletins/housingenglandandwales/census2021#main-points

Now, I warn some of you, these stats were NOT blown out of Donald Trump's or Farage's ass holes, so you may not believe them, and chose to ignore them, but for normal, sensible, educated people in the UK, this is as good as it gets.

NB with rental accommodation when they classify a dwelling as a rented accommodation it does not equate to just one person solely living in it. Also these stats are just for England and Wales. Not Scotland and NI so bear that in mind.
