I don't think Ba's any more of a risk than any other player. Yes, his knees 'could' go. But any other player could take a tackle and have their career ended.

Weird comment. Why bother signing anybody on the basis that they could receive a career ending tackle?
The risk is much higher, however, when the guy has knees that could go completely at some stage. That's why we're saying he's higher risk.

Ahhh I get you.
I don't know much about his knees but I'd rather pay slightly more for Podolski than have Ba to be honest.
Plus what would be the point, we can't give Carroll the service that he got at Newcastle, I sincerely doubt we could give it to Ba!!!
Interesting comments guys, given that it's not easy to sign a good player in January arnt we just looking for a player to make enough impact to get us in the CL. Ba might not be a long term prospect but if he gets us in the CL who cares, he might be worth the gamble. He has certainly got goals wherever he's gone.

100%. We need somebody to push us into the Champions League and this season has shown us one thing, we need goals! Ba scores goals. Apparently has a 5m release clause and has the pace in attack we've been crying out for. 5m for a Champions League place? Give us it!

I don't. We don't need more "English talent". Plus these lower league snap ups don't always work. Look at Connor Wickham, only scored once in the league this season in 11 games!
Perhaps Andy needs some company up front Ba and Carroll could be a handful. I had got to thinking that crosses were the best way to get goals from Carroll but judging from that goal he scored against Oldham we should just play the ball into feet and tell him to shoot on sight!

We all know Kenny wanted Rory Donnelly but he swerved us to keep his agreement with Swansea, plus I think he supports Man Utd and would like to go there one day.
So we are still in this mindset of getting homegrown players. To that end the Rhodes rumour may well carry a bit of weight.
His overall scoring record is superb and he has made his international debut.
As a footnote to that I believe Rhodes is a Man U fan as well.
