He was the Chairman. Not sure who else had authority if not him? Like I say, if we're talking Lewis putting his own money in then it's different. But ENIC's pretty much just Spurs init? We can see it all gets reinvested
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd imagine as a minority holder he has to set the budget to get approved by majority owners.
At least that is typical in business.

Daniel Levy leaves Tottenham:
- Decision taken by Tavistock/Lewis’
- Result of lack of on-pitch success
- Joe Lewis’ kids Vivienne and Charlie key
- Joe’s grandson Nick Beucher involved
- Lewis’ believe change necessary
- Exec chairman role to be removed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still not sure whether the latest transfer window would have had any influence over this decision. I know it's said that it stems from a lack of success over the years but this after we just won a European trophy, so maybe they gave Levy a chance with this window and were displeased with how it went and the use of money. Or maybe I'm overthinking it.
I like the sound of these Lewis kids anyway. Bit more demanding of success that should have been seen from Joe ages back.

Yeah makes sense. But the budget is predicated on what the club earns right? There's not huge profits, hundreds of millions in the bank going untouched. I guess maybe you could point to the wage bill? But I think that's more a symptom of poor recruitment than anything..

Don’t like it, United got worse when there was hope.
This feels like it was personal reasons for sacking him, as surely he would’ve been kept for the commercial side of the club.
But seems like it’s been planned for months, the new commercial team hired, the new guy that came in (forgot his name) and the apparent rumours that sacking Ange was above Levy’s head.
It all makes sense, dunno what to make of it, I’m concerned it’s gonna get worse

At risk of going full fridge I don't see how it gets much worse on the pitch than it has post-Poch.
posted 3 weeks, 5 days ago
And yeah it's boring but I think it comes back to Poch. Should've been backed, wasn't. And even tho at the time I understood Levy's reasoning in going for Mourinho to win a trophy it was clearly wrong and everything since then has been a shambles.
I don't see how ENIC (aside from removing Levy) could've really affected things other than Lewis throwing a ton of money at it.

Those Timo wages was worth it in the end
#thfc Xavi Simons on whether he held talks with Timo Werner before joining the English club: “Yes, he told me a lot about the size of the club and the fantastic fans. And he said he believed it was the right place for me to learn and improve.”

Saw some of the Holland v Poland game yday.
Xavi played on the right of a midfield three with Depay up top, Gapko on the left and Reijnders in the middle.
De Jong and Gravenberch in the pivot
The Polish team was littered with 6 footers and Xavi got bullied off the ball and even stopped a few Dutch attacks by losing the ball in the Polish area.
Wasn't a great performance tbh and he was hooked after 79min. He is slight but not sure if his position was a factor in his performance.

Bournemouth did that once as well, although that may have been against future player payments or something.
All seems pretty dodgy to me tbh, if (hopefully when) the TV money drops or fails it will be interesting to see the knock-on effect the PL receives.
Even in the NBA it didn't project to increase as highly as they thought and its catching a few teams by surprise.
